Whole House Fan Installation 10/7/2009

I purchased a whole house fan through Integrity. This is the type of fan that is installed in a hallway/ceiling of the home to draw cool air in through windows/doors and vent warm air into the attic. In brief, Integrity damaged my ceiling during the course of the installation and would not claim responsibility for the repair. No attempt was made to restitute with at least an offer to partially pay for damages; and this was following multiple attempts to work with the company representative via email and phone communications. Pictures of the damage were also provided, as well as a formal estimate for repair. The damage was estimated at approximately $260, a small amount that would serve to guarantee customer satisfaction ? however Integrity refused and claimed no responsibility for ?wet plaster? walls or ceilings. While discussing the purchase and install with Integrity no mention was made regarding ?no responsibility? for wet plaster, in fact they stated no need to perform a pre-install inspection to determine/evaluate possible issues. I now recommend pre-purchase/contracting inspections in the home/where the work is to be performed so there are no misconceptions and the customer has an opportunity to ask questions and verify the ?integrity? of the contractor. In an email I received prior to the installation date I was told by the sales/company representative ?I am positive that you will be happy with our service.? I can tell you that while the fan itself is wonderful, the workmanship of the installation and support thereafter of Integrity as a reputable business is certainly questionable. The damage to my ceiling is a testament to my assessment and feedback. The contracted work in my home did not exemplify ?integrity.? I am now in a position to have the repair made at my cost, obviously adding to the overall expense of the purchase and contracted job. I am not a satisfied customer, nor would I recommend Integrity as a reputable contracting resource. Fan installed by Integrity on 8/17/09, submitted this feedback/review on 10/7/09.
