    The Institute of Technical Arts' mission is to develop students skills to the fullest in developing professional attitudes, values, and habits that will improve opportunities for career success by providing professional educators to enhance a productive learning experience utilizing modern techniques and equipment, enabling students to graduate with experience and confidence to become competitive and in high demand in the community in which we serve. The institute is committed to encouraging the intellectual pursuits of men and women in occupational skills striving to maintain the flexibility necessary to meet the needs of a diverse student population and the varying educational requirements prompted by changes in society. The goal of the institute is to recognize students' needs to encourage their intellectual pursuits and personal development to maintain creative activities in community involvement that will meet the needs of a modern society.

    Educational Objectives

    The Institute of Technical Arts' educational objectives are:

    • To prepare students in necessary occupational skills that  qualify them to enter their chosen fields;
    • To encourage intellectual pursuits and personal development needed to meet the demands of our modern society;
    • To provide professional educators who possess the technical expertise to instill the highest level of professional performance and behavior;
    • To provide the necessary modern facilities and equipment to provide a productive learning experience;
    • To provide an overall atmosphere that will promote the growth of mature and professional attitudes;
    • To assist students in developing professional attitudes, values, skills, and habits that will improve their opportunities for career success.

    The Institute of Technical Arts offers programs to provide knowledge and confidence to become successful in today's ever-changing economy.  Programs have been developed to give students skills that are sought by employers.

    The school administration is constantly evaluating and analyzing every aspect of the Institute's programs to ensure relevance to the needs of the business community to effectively prepare students for success in their chosen career.

    The school offers educational programs at the diploma and Associate of Science degree levels.  Diploma programs give students the career-oriented skills that are needed in the work place in a short period of time.  Associate of Science degree programs go much further in depth. These programs offer general education courses that are designed to encourage students intellectual growth in addition to their career-oriented skills.

    The Institute of Technical Arts offers two programs in veterinary technology.  The school offers a Veterinary Technician Associate of Science degree program which is 1610 clock hours and Veterinary Assistant diploma program which is 900 clock hours.

    The Professional Pet Styling program at the Institute of Technical Arts teaches students how to perfect their grooming skills and concentrate on proper breed profile.  Students spend an extended period of time learning to refine their scissoring skills and enhance the pets coat.  This training gives students the ability to work with any kind of coat or hairstyle.

    The Basic Pet Styling program at the Institute of Technical Arts is designed for students who would like to work under the supervision of a professional pet groomer.  Concentrate will be on the basic pet grooming of dogs and cats.  Students will learn basic scissoring,but will need more time to practice and perfect their skills to become a professional pet groomer.
