Industria Argentina...interesting name, right 3/16/2006

If you've been to Buenos Aires and miss the food, come here. You will be magically transported back, because they do it all PERFECT here. You will pay for the perfection, but no more than you would expect to for food like this. The portions are sizable, the staff is very pleasant and the food is off the charts, so there is every reason to go... more

You won't find many Argentinian restaurants south of the border?i.e. south of Canal Street?and that's a pity. The terrific steaks and cuisine of Buenos Aires come to life in this cavernous space, where every piece of furniture is authentic and imported from Argentina. The free range meat from Executive Chef Fernando Trocca is truly terrific, and the 100% Argentinian wine list contains a number of wonderful selections?our advice: focus on Mendoza. For a light meal, take a seat at the bar and enjoy an appetizer of chorizo or empanadas saltenas, or perhaps a lomito or choripan sandwich. A particular specialty of the house is the Patagonian-style suckling pig, served only twice weekly. Grilled meat selection for two is a nice romantic choice?kirt steak, sweet breads, lamb chops, sausage, blood sausage and short ribs. served with mesclun salad and french fries.

Owner Message
  • Industria Argentina means ?Made in Argentina,? and indeed everything in our restaurant ? the furniture, d?cor, wines and the chef ? are direct from Argentina. Executive Chef Natalia Machado presents her sophisticated and modern interpretation of Argentinean classics, offering tastes from Patagonia to Salta. Our wine list, created by wine director German Calle, is also 100% Argentinean and features emerging regions, high-altitude wineries and sustainable vintners. Industria Argentina boasts an impressive bar scene attracting a good happy hour crowd Monday through Friday. There is also a private room perfect for hosting private parties and events. Through Natalia?s plump empanadas, Patagonina-style lamb or grass-fed beef from the Pampas grilled on the parrilla, Industria Argentina is a little piece of Argentina in Tribeca.
