recommend 3/3/2011

We have visited multiple times, starting 27 years ago. We always will try to rent a cabin for space and privacy, pool is nice and if you really like hot water like my hubby the hot tubs are perfect. Staff has always been very helpful and friendly. We do recommend to our friends for a quick weekend or weeknight get away. more

Wonderful relaxing visit! 2/20/2011

I had the best time of my life! I was there this past weekend, and while it was extremely busy, I must say everyone tried real hard to accommodate me and my family. There were two ladies in the night, a gal with glasses and a older Hispanic woman that were just a riot! They were very helpful and made us so relaxed. Thanks Indian Springs, you have our business forever...Oh yeah those with the negative comments, you need to go pay the fees for a 5 star resort and see what you get! more

experience 2/17/2011

I am confused and shocked by the reviews I just read. I have gone to many spas at high end places, however feel this experience at the hot springs is like no other. If you are looking for a 5 star resort then this may not be the place for you but I feel that is a good thing. This faciluty is old and has a relaxing and spiritual feel. It is a place of relaxation and meditation as well as a place to unwind and forget your worries, atleast that is what it did for me. I was a bit nervous at first about the nude caves but you can use a towel to cover yourself up and it is truly a relaxing experience. I also did the mud bath as well as had a massage. I have never felt so relaxed after a 4 hour experience at this place. I did not stay at the resort, so I am unable to comment on the overnight stays. If you are looking for an up scale resort don't go here but if you want a unique experience with history give this place a try. One more thing,my massage for an hour massage, hot springs, and mud. I hope this review helps! more

place is great! 2/8/2011

What are all these disgruntled people talking about? The place is great! Clean rooms, nice new beds, quiet, no drunkards, friendly staff, lovely setting. Yes, the cave baths and the swimming pool are a bit old fashioned. Read: charming instead of aseptic. And yes: They do have a few smoking rooms and sell alcoholic beverages at the bar. In other words: you don´t geht this ideology that you can only do something for your health if you drink nothing but green tea und believe in esoterism. By the way: Try the hot stone massage. Awesome! more

Run-down resort 11/25/2010

My Wife and I decided to try out this resort, as we wanted to visit Georgetown for the Bighorn Sheep Festival. Well, needless to say, we were very disappointed. The entire resort was so run down, that it made our 2 night stay, an unpleasant one. It's obvious that the money they are bringing in from charging you for every little thing, is not going back into the resort. We stayed in one of the INN rooms, and it was in sad shape. Leaky toilet, cracked grout, only 1 free outlet, dry-rotted caulk on the sink and tub, rusted baseboard heaters, dirty carpet, water that would constantly change while showering, from warm to scalding hot, and towels that were the thinnest, cheapest they could buy, no wi-fi, free or otherwise, and everything closes at 10:30pm, so no access to anything after that, and they did offer a continental breakfast they offered each day, but it only took the frist day to decide it wasn't worth it. Their breakfast consisted of a plate of wheat bread, a small plate of plain mini-bagels, 3 cereals and a bowl of apples-really?? We took advantage of a special they had going on, which gave us a soak in private bath for an hour each day-can ya spare it?? To think that we would of had to pay over $20 for the one hour soak was disheartening. We would have never stayed there if the package hadn't included some free soaks. Now the private baths were another story, Peeling paint, dirty water (which they said was mineral deposits, but yet they had filtering systems right in each room! - we stayed in two different private bath rooms and one had dirty water, the other was better) half working showers, one room had a speaker with music, the others speaker was not working, no ventilation, so there were hundreds of water drops on the entire ceiling of each private bath, which made it hard to keep your clothes dry with the constant condensation dripping down from all over the ceiling, They also have outdoor hot tubs, at an extra cost of course! They also had cave pools, but they were gender specific (completely spearate), so that is something that couples would never use. All in all, it was just an unpleasant get-away for us. We would not go there again. We also suggest that they start putting some of the money they take in, back into fixing up the resort. A good comparison would be the hot springs down in Pagosa Springs. While their room prices are higher ($200/night), this includes everything. You have access to all 20-something outdoor pools they have, and you have access to them 24/7 (they close to the public at 10pm, but hotel guests have 24/7 access), plus they provide free drinks (hot chocolate, coffee, juices, water, teas, free 24/7 in the lobby), and their rooms are in much better condition with wi-fi, and all buildings have easy access to the hot springs. Now Indian Hot Springs charges $115/night, plus access to all baths/soaks are extra, to the tune of something like $23/person, per 1 hour soak! Cave baths were a little cheaper from what I remember. Also, the INN building we stayed in, you had to cross a street to get to the main building. Anyhow, I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless they decide to start taking care of it. more
