When my husband and I worked together, we went to the India Palace every Friday for over a year. The waitstaff knew us and when we came in, they knew where we liked to sit and what we ordered for drinks (Diet Coke for me, Mango Lasse for my husband). What do I like about the India Palace? To start, the price. The buffet is only $7.95 during the day and is absolutely delicious. I don't like the puddings for dessert because I never was an Indian pudding type of person, but my husband loves the rice pudding and the mango pudding. Their chicken curry and marsala sauces are amazing. Everything is just so good. You have to try this place. If you've never had Indian food, don't worry, you don't need to be a pro to go here. Just get the buffet and sample everything and ask what they call each dish so you'll know what to order if you ever get take out. I first tried Indian food in San Francisco in 2001, so I've only been eating it for 4 years now, and I sometimes wonder why I didn't start eating it sooner. It's such a nice escape from modern American food. The India Palace is delicious, flavorful, fresh, and yummy. The waitstaff are friendly yet proper, and very quick on thier feet - you're not stuck waiting around for service or for your check. There's usually not a wait for a table, but the few times we have waited was only for 10 minutes tops. The restaurant is small - only 2 small rooms, but it feels very cozy and quaint. Try India Palace - you'll enjoy the good food from the far east!
