TERRIBLE! 10/10/2009

I gave this Indian 1 star because of the decor. The food is quite honestly terrible. I love Indian food & have tried different variations all over the world & this by far is the worst. They are using dark chicken meat in the Korma & chicken tikka masala which should be white meat. The sauce for these 2 dishes should be creamy & full of flavor...The masala tasted like tomatoe & Basil, the Korma hmmmm of nothing! My advice don't waste your money...Have a steak! Pros: Decor Cons: Everything! more

Very good food 6/20/2009

I ate here for the first time yesterday after seeing it for many years. Some of the best Indian my wife and I have ever had, and likely the best in Vegas that we have had. The dishes were very tasty, and had a fresh and flavorful quality to them. The decor is very nice and they have redone the outside (so it looks nothing like the picture). I found the service to be polite and friendly. The naan was good, but not great, certainly not the best I have ever had, but the other dishes were very good. Overall, very good. Pros: Delicious food Cons: Less than ideal location, mediocre bread more

Good food, cheap price 9/29/2008

I just moved in the city and was looking for a good Indian restaurant with good prices. After reading the other reviews on this site, I decided to try it but remembering that I might get unfriendly service but good food. I went there to try their lunch buffet, the other reviewers were right, the food and the price were good. As for the service, I didn't think they were unfriendly. I thought the waiters were "quite", maybe you can see that as unfriendly. But they were on top of it, they contantly filled up my water and immediatly took the dirty plates away. Overall, it was a good experience, I recommend it. Pros: Good food and good price Cons: In a bad part of town more

Food good enough to keep us coming back despite one experience 12/26/2007

They have the better Indian food in all of Vegas. If you like spicy food, they know how to put on the heat, when asked to. The chicken and lamb dishes and nan are fantastic. However, poor attitudes and customer service seem to be their downfall. Order, eat, pay, and leave...they indirectly rush you in that order and without a smile. But we love the food so much we still go there. On our drive there, we try to guess if they will be either moody or unfriendly...sorta prepping and coaching ourselves to brush off their bad customer service and be mindful that we're going for the food. One major disgust for me -- I was using their restroom before being served. I was in a stall and heard the waitress (the older woman) come out of the other stall, after hearing her flush. She went straight out the door without washing her hands. We all know that's not acceptable. Now I was just hoping that she washed her hands in their kitchen sink! Well, take from this truth what you want. If it doesn't bother you, then enjoy the great food. At least it wasn't the cook I caught. Pros: Food Cons: bad customer service, limited parking, waitress didn't wash her hands after using restroom! more

The other reviews are true - the location isn't that great... As far as Indian lunch buffets go though, this is the best we've had so far. Everything seemed very fresh and there was a great selection. I can't wait to go back. Pros: Great food Cons: Horrible location more

The Best in Las Vegas 11/3/2006

We arrived at about 6PM to find the parking lot almost full due to a birthday celebration by a large group of Red Hats. I became concerned we would be late for our show because of a back up in the kitchen, but we were able to place our orders first. We split orders of chicken tika marsala, chicken korma, naan and basmati rice. The chicken was extremely tender and everything was delicious as usual. India Palace is a bargain in comparison to other Las Vegas Indian restaurants and the food is far more dependable. more

Terrific buffet! 8/3/2006

My husband and I are seriously into Indian food. We decided to check out this place, and as we were driving through a not so great part of town, we started to re-think our decision. Just about that time we saw it, and thought we'd have a look. The inside doesn't match the wonky surroundings at all -- it's really very nice. The buffet was spectacular -- very authentic Indian food, and having lived in England and had lots of this cuisine, this is high praise. The saag was creamy, the salad was crisp, the chutneys tangy and savory, meat entrees were perfect. They even had an unusual veggie dish with a tart sweet flavor that I'd never had. They bring fresh naan to the table, and have more than the standard Indian beer. Sometimes on Indian buffets they're always the same, but we've been back more than once and it was different each time -- yet retained the deliciousness. You really should give it a try. Pros: Flavors, service, ambience Cons: Not the best part of town more

I was almost raised on Indian food so I tend to be quite picky, so I was pleasenlty suprised to find India Palace. The area it was located in was not to impressive but the food made up for that! Wonderful samosas, chicken tikka masala, naan, and mango chutney (my favorites). When the bill came I was even happier. $30 for two including drinks! Pros: relaxed enviroment, amazing food Cons: crummy location more

Rip Off Take Out! 11/29/2002

This place may be a nice place to sit down but do NOT use them for take out. They offer a great delivery service but it is not worth the money. My husband I ordered 2 entrees and keema nan. The entree did not even come with rice. For the price they charge for the entree, it should have had rice with it. Cons: expensive, overpriced more

Great Food - No Glitz 6/27/2002

Great Indian food off the strip. After two days in Vegas of expensive-but-not-that-great casino/restaurant food we needed a break. We picked the India Palace it was off the strip and *bonus* we found a 10% off coupon in the travel guide. Its a small place and a little bit of a drive. Be prepared to wait. Its not glamorous or romantic but the food more than makes up for the atmosphere. We ordered saag paneer - creamy and yummy, sizzling, succulent chicken tandoori and chicken tikka masala - so tender it barely needed chewing. Also we got raita, rice and naan bread, all of which were really good. With or without a coupon - its worth it. Pros: inexpensive, excellent food Cons: small, not on main drag more
