Come hungry - this is great Indian food. I love Royal India (also in Sandy) and this might tie or even beat Royal for me after my first visit. Royal India has slightly better atmosphere, but India House has thicker, chewier Naan, equally delicious Korma and Chicken Tiki Masala (maybe even slightly more in the layers of flavors?), and the homemade mango ice cream was yummy too. Big bonus is India House is open for lunch! more

India House is by far one of the best Indian Restaurants in the Salt Lake Valley. If you haven't tried the lunch buffet, then I suggest you treat yourself, wear stretchy pants, and go hungry. The spices in the dishes and the textures of the foods are perfect. I have always had great service from this restaurant as well. more

Do not let the bad reviews prevent you from going! I saw some of the bad reviews and frankly, I was astounded. I have been to India House dozens of times and have been happy with each and every experience. I have gone for lunch and also for dinner and have taken many friends to experience their great food. And believe me, they are all repeat customers along with me. Not once have I had a bad experience with food or service. Their butter chicken is to die for and I could just get truckloads of the naan and be perfectly happy. What are you waiting for? Go and get some chicken and naan! more

Love their naan bread. The service is always awesome. Their food is very flavorful and it looks appetizing. Some Indian restaurants do not have as much rich color or great flavors in their food. You need to give this place a try. I have been going there since they first opened. I've never been disappointed! Pros: I love their food, it's always flavorful. The service too! Cons: Prices are a little high, but that's expected. more

Great Indian cuisine, if you can get past the service. 12/23/2009

It's really too bad. This might have been the best Indian food I've ever had. My wife and I were floored. But the service was frustrating, to say the least. It was a very slow night, but getting my grumpy waiter's attention was impossible. I know others have been complaining about this, and I hope they can straighten things out. I would love to hear some more good reviews, and give these guys another chance. The food really was that good. Pros: A really amazing chicken curry. Cons: Waiter seems to hate his job more than I hate mine. more

We loved their service. They gave drinks quickly. We had wonderful apricot beer there and we enjoyed our rich spicy Indian food. I was thrilled with their naan and I will be going back ASAP. Delish!! Pros: amazing flavor amazing service more

Great Indian food 2/7/2009

As a novice to Indian food, I really liked the lunch buffet, not crowded at all. I don't know what anything was called but there wasn't anything too spicy in the buffet. I really liked the rice pudding and round things that reminded me of flan. Pros: Lunch buffet offers a great introduction to different types of Indian food Cons: Could use more selection more

I LOVE India House. Is it open yet? The chicken tikka is awesome. Pros: never on a wait at dinner. excellent food when they are on top of their game. Cons: seems a little dirty and the bathrooms are out of order a lot. very small- you can hear every conversation. more

Good service, Great food 11/12/2007

I don't know why these other people are complaining on here - we have been there a dozen or more times and EVERY TIME we receive great customer service (come on, all you need is your food in a timely mannor and drinks filled up - do you REALLY NEED A SMILE) they don't smile that often, but like another review, i think it's just cause they are shy. The restaurant has good service and reasonable prices. I was unsure of Indian food before going here but their lunch buffet changed all that. You will want to go early because they get very busy for lunch. The best food selection is prior to 12:30. After that you take your chances on what you can get. They continue to re-supply the food items but it can get pretty sparse. The chicken dishes are flavorful and tasty. I have not been for dinner, but I can recommend the lunch buffet if you what to try a variety of dishes. Pros: Good food, reasonable prices Cons: Parking, can get very busy for lunch more

Tasty and Addictive 4/29/2006

I come here a couple times a week to get some lunch at thier buffet. They give me a to-go container to fill it up so I can take it back to work with me. They have vegetarian items on the buffet too! I order Pashwari Naan with it, and it is my favorite- better than Bombay! Pros: Open for lunch, vegetarian, cheap Cons: not-romantic more

Love the food 4/13/2006

So while the last reviewer did not care for this restaurant, it is one of my favorites. I guess that is why these are opinions. I agree one of the people who work there doesn't smile all that much (although I think this is more due to them being shy more than anything) the food itself is great. I always get enough to eat and they will bring out more rice if you want. The Chicken Briyani and Seekh Kabab are my 2 favorite dishes and my girlfriend loves the Vindaloo. I also recommend the garlic naan or the keema naan. Pros: Spicy, Great food, Good value Cons: Not Happy servers, Ocassionally crowded more

Fooling people 4/3/2006

I read other comments also and wondering how they came to such a good conclusion. Its just pethatic restaurant.I ordered Paneer Pakoda and was served with 4-5 small pieces .A Quarter coin would be bigger then this. I then ordered Pulav n Paneer makhni, they gave me 4 small pieces of paneer dipped in Tomato Sauce.The pulav was soo great NO taste. they just mixed all the vegetables with rice and put it in front of me. A very bad preparation style and poor service. The serving people look like they have been tortured. there is no smile on there faces. They are just spoiling my country`s name. I think there rates are a bit cheaper then other Indian Rest. but when one goes out for authentic food,They dont look at the money. Its just the taste and satisfaction that matters. I wont suggest anyone to go there. Pros: Cold water Cons: Poor Service, Bad Taste, less Quantity more

Amazing Food! 3/30/2006

India house is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is superb and the lunch buffet is a great deal. I personally recommend every selection of Chicken Curry as well as the Garlic Naan (bread) and Kheer (a rice pudding for dessert). more

Nice people, nice food 12/28/2005

This place has the best service, very Indian, unlike some other Indian restaurants I have visted, where the service is quite rude. The food is authentic and the lunch buffet is a good value! Highly recoomended, from a fellow Indian :) .. Keep it up! Pros: Good service, Great food more
