Best

I love eating Indian Food at your place. I enjoy all of the dishes, they are trutly special; the vegetables, the chicken, the rice and bread are just a delight. I love the aroma...

Worst

We asked an Indian friend where to get good Indian food in the Triangle. He recommended this place or Sitar Indian Palace. We went here because it was closer. Now that we have bee...

The changes are excellent! 7/14/2007

Amazing food! I am big on Indian cuisine, and I definitely agree that this is one of the best in the area. It's a wonderful place to get a bite. With an informal atmoshphere, you're able to bask in the essence of India. I recently ate there after the renovations; the new changes are great! Not only has the menu improved, but now I can get it delivered! The only unsatisfying thing with the place was the fact that they had not delivered in the past; problem solved! My favorite dish, now, is their Chicken Biryani (I am craving it as I speak), so definitely try that! Pros: Very versatile...eat alone or take as many people as you want. more

Absolutely AMAZING!! Must Try! 7/13/2007

I LOVE Indian food and try to find new places to eat in each state or country I visit. In North Carolina, India Garden has the most authentic taste and atmosphere is simply beautiful (hands down). Comparatively, the food and atmosphere are above par. The rice is aromatic, the fish is deliciously spicy, and the lassi was made just right though the vegetable dish was a bit on the greasy side. Overall the service is great (I went on a Wednesday) so it wasn?t overly crowded but I?ve heard it get a bit crowded on the weekends. The staff was really friendly but I wish there were more young, attractive waiters. Pros: Food is Yummy!! Cons: Need more attractive waiters. more

New Look but same great taste! 5/25/2007

I've been going to India Garden since it first opened 1995 and I'm still going today after 12 years. Just recently they have renovated and it looks fantastic! The food is still wonderful and the service is great. There are a variety of choices to choose from their menu. The Butter chicken and the paneer tikka masala was excellent. Chili naan is also a great way to add to the taste. The food was made with al kinds of delicious spices. The waiters are very friendly and know how to make you feel at home. It's also a great place for family gatherings or even business meetings. However the renovation makes the restaurant a whole lot more attractive and romantic. Growing up in India I?ve had my share of Indian food and I know my Indian food and this tastes like home away from home. If you?re craving the best Indian food, go to India Garden! It wont let you down! Pros: Enviornmnet, Food, Service Cons: it was difficult to find the location more

Great lunch buffet! 2/26/2007

the place is not fancy, but you cant beat the price and quality of their lunch buffet! only about $7 with a variety of about 10 hot dishes and a salad bar incl. simple but good desert like rice pudding. more

Kinda disappointed 1/16/2007

Since I'll be in Cary quite often on business, I have made it a personal quest of mine to seek out all the Indian food restaurants in the area. This one was definitely not one of the best. Firstly, there was no host/hostess and I waited for almost 3 minutes before being seated. Once seated, it took almost 10 minutes before anyone came to even take a drink order. I would have left and went to Suchi right then and there, but they were closed (Monday). I tried to order wine, but it seemed as though they had about 1/2 of what was printed on their drink menu, so I was left with Woodbridge...lovely. My ol' standby's are Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, and Garlic Naan. Both the dishes were just ""okay""....the Garlic Naan was absolutely delicious! I suppose everything would have tasted better if I hadn't been so disappointed in their service. Perhaps I caught them on a bad night, but I wasn't overly impressed. Pros: If you're into Garlic Naan, go for it! Cons: Service needs a serious overhaul more

Really Good Indian Food 1/3/2007

Ok, if you can get over the fact that the place needs remodeling really really bad, the food is awesome! I love the weekend buffet. Ordering off of the menu is good as well. I never really ate Indian Food before being introduced to this place but I must say, it has quickly become close to my heart. The catering is phenomenal! Pros: Really great fresh food Cons: really old and kind of run down more

best party food I ever got 11/6/2006

We like to host parties and end up ordering food from various places. We had a Diwali party at our place and had around fifity plus friends of Indian origin. We order the food from India Garden and I can vauch that it was the best food we received so far. The food was freshly made even though it was busy day and the order was relatively big on a short notice. People loved it and enjoyed the food. The nans were also fresh and could last in same condition for almost two hours after delivery. I will highly recommend these guys for any event in future. more

Great for 10 years 8/23/2006

I have gone to India Garden for ten years now. Their food is very good quality and variety. The staff is very friendly. It is by far the best in Cary, if not the triangle. I have eaten Indian in NYC, DC, Philly, Chicago, etc..... This is good quality. People on here that give it bad reviews must be bitter angry people or else they have poor taste. Pros: great food, friendly staff more

Very Disappointing - menu on website not updated 6/10/2006

We came to this restaurant on a Sunday evening, and it was by far the worst Indian restaurant I have been to in the Triangle area. We didn't get the buffet, because there was only one other group in the restaurant and we assumed it would not be fresh. The menu on the website is false - it didn't have half of those items on it at the restaurant. The papad and naan were the only items we got that tasted right. The malai kofta had a very strange flavor, and the saag paneer was nothing to rave about. Servings were small, and the service was not good either. Will never go back there. Cons: food, service more

User review by cattigan 11/8/2005

India Garden serves excellent Indian cuisine with plenty of options for different palates. It's centrally located in Cary, and parking is never a problem. The service is fantastic, but for the price ($10-15 per person at dinner) I expected larger portions - if I'm paying that much for a meal, I like to have leftovers. Overall, the food was very flavorful and high quality. I can definitely recommend this restaurant as one of my new favorites in town. more

Quietly the best in the area 9/28/2005

India Garden may be the sleeper among them all. The food is more delicately prepared, never heavy. At lunch the buffet is a standout, with nice variety, and the food has a welcome freshness and is always at the proper serving temperature. The staff are attentive and polite, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the facilities are clean and well-kept. Since there's never a parking problem and the location, at Cary Towne Center, is easily found, there's every reason to make India Garden your regular source for the most rewarding cuisine on the planet. Pros: easy parking, fine lunch buffet, fine service Cons: no cons! more

You'll love this place! Go! 8/2/2004

The India Garden Restaurant has been in business for 9+ years (as of 2004), and has many loyal customers. I'm one of them. Try it once and you'll become a regular, too. I've never seen such a clean, comfortable (all booth seating), homey yet spacious Indian restaurant. The music is soft and the lighting is low. The core staff is a fixture, and they recognize you when you return. They never rush you but welcome you always. The service is cordial and understated, the atmosphere quiet and comfortable. There's no need to go anywhere else for excellent Indian food. It's superb and varied - so many choices, even goat meat on weekends. The buffets are rich and fresh and the food is to die for. How can anyone criticize this jewel? A jealous competitor, perhaps? Don't mess with the best, mess with the rest! FIVE STARS FOR INDIA GARDEN! Pros: Clean, Excellent food, Great Service more

Best Indian Food in the Area 8/2/2004

I have several friends and family members who are native Indians and/or have spent large amounts of time in India. Every time they are in town I bring them to India Garden and we have yet to be disappointed. Recommendations: ask about the food if you're new to Indian food, Happy Dinner (it just keeps coming and coming), naan Pros: atmosphere, great food, good for parties more

Food Blah 6/25/2004

I last visited this restaurant 7 months ago and the food we were served was poor. I have eaten food here several times before, each time it was disappointing. With the last dinner my wife and I decided that was enough... not vistied again. Pros: ok parking, not crowded more

wow! 9/7/2003

I went there for lunch for the first time last week and I thought it was delicious. I am a great fan of rice pudding (kheer) and I thought theirs was probably the best I've ever had. Pros: food more

ehh..okay 12/11/2002

I went to India Garden before 5pm one day, and they sat us promptly even though they technically weren't open. Decided to try the buffet, and it was good except there weren't many choices, and the food wasn't fanatastic. The atmosphere is moderate, maybe a little be too bright, and our placemats were maps of North Carolina! Overall, the food was decent, but the atmosphere needs some work. Pros: nice location Cons: weak atmosphere more

Best Rice Pudding! 9/28/2002

We live in Durham and have eaten in almost all of the Indian restaurants in the Triangle. The India Garden has sophisticated and mouth-watering food---the sweet-sour lamb curry is sweetened with onions and full of flavor; the vegetarian dishes are distinct in ingredients and spicing and not the overcooked mishmash served in many other places; the pakoras are perfectly fried and subtly spiced. Their food isn't greasy or overly salted, common failings in Indian restaurant food hereabouts. India Garden's rice pudding is the best I have ever had---cardamom, almonds and magic. Pros: food, inexpensive, easy parking at mall more

BEWARE OF THIS RESTAURANT..... 9/12/2002

Worst Indian food I have ever had. Service was poor too. No varities in vegetarian food. Kadhi-pakoda was terrible. THINK TWICE BEFORE GOING HERE... more

not so great 9/4/2002

We asked an Indian friend where to get good Indian food in the Triangle. He recommended this place or Sitar Indian Palace. We went here because it was closer. Now that we have been to Sitar, we are willing to make the longer drive for better food. The buffet was alright. The food was lukewarm, and there were not a lot of choices. The chutney was good though. The service was lacking. The ambience leaves a lot to be desired. more

HOME AWAY FROM HOME 8/23/2002

I myself is an Indian. I think outside India this is the first time I got the taste of my own country. The atmosphere is so homely that I never tried any other restaurant except this one.Hats off to INDIA GARDEN. more
