They are personable, thorough, and do good work. They take their time and always make you feel good about the work their doing and the costs. They outline everything for you on the computer. I started going to Independent Automotive back in 1990, when I bought two Hondas and needed a shop to go to. The thing that keeps me going back there, is their honesty. They won't try to sell you something you don't want or need. I don't know of anybody who does that. Even the parts they put on my car are of high quality, not low end, because they guarantee their work, so they want to do their repairs with the very best parts available. I also appreciate that they explain and even will show you a video about what is wrong and where the part is on your car. They are always on top of things. I've never had a problem with them or Gary. I highly recommend their services to anybody! more

You won't find any better shop in Solano County 8/2/2010

I've been taking my cars here for over 15 years. I've always been more than satisfied and know that they have no doubt saved me thousands over the years as compared to what a dealer would charge. I've been going back all these years because I feel they have been honest with me and are very competent at what they do. There were times when an older car needed a lot of work, and they always discussed the options I had. I highly recommend them. more

Independent Automotive is now horrible. 10/12/2009

I had been told how good they were over the years by various friends. A few years ago, I took one of my cars there and they did a great job. I recently took a different car there and they tried to milk me. What they wanted $ 300.00 to start with (which wouldn't have fixed the issue) was a $ 20.00 fix by another repair shop. They also have "coupons" which they do not honor when presented. It is disappointing that such a prior reputable shop has gotten so bad. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. more

They truly care about the customer! 10/5/2007

I have had many many years of good service for several different cars. Yes, they always tell you what they found on your car that needs repair; but they *never* pressure you to fix them; they always tell you how serious or dangerous it might be if you ask. Everything they say needs to be fixed truly does (and I repaired enough cars to be able to tell) - they aren't just trying to create revenue. The prices are very reasonable. You can trust these people. I just wish my German-made car could be serviced here. A great business to have in Fairfield. more

Great place to take your car! 8/15/2007

I've been taking my car here for years, and have had no problems with this car shop. There honest people and take very good care of there customers, they are open also on saturdays which is great. Check it out for yourselfs! more

I would like to say that this Repair Shop is great! There service and staff are wonderful, very friendly place, I took my car in for a service and the prices are great! Very reasonable! I have told ALL my friends to come to the auto repair shop because they were great! I will always take my car to them in the future, also i found out they have flyers they mail to you for monthy specials!!!! \r \r Very Happy Customer!!!! more

Completely Horrible! 12/21/2006

If I could rate this this place no stars I would. Workers pretended to be nice but were right down rude. I got a quote at a great price. When I went in I got crappy service. Took all day for something that shouldn't take more than 2 hours and then tried to say that my car needed more changes and if I had agreed to it all it would have come close to an additional $900. What a rip off!\r Save yourself! Don't go here for any kind of service unless you want crap done. more

Can you Say Money Hungry? 8/19/2006

So disappointed. I would never recommend this place. Went in for timing belt, and later after many supposed needed repairs, cost was over $600! Not very good customer service. Did nothing special except offered to hold my car longer and charge me more if I came back because they didn't have a part in stock. Don't waste your money on them! PROS: Very good at getting you once you go in CONS: Can you say it's all about the money? more

Can you say Money Hungry? 8/18/2006

I was so disappointed in this place. I went in for a timing belt and came out with over $600 in repair cost. The people were not very welcomely. All they wanted was to figure out how much they can get out of you. I would not recommend them at all. They gave no discount of any kind from the orginal price of $199 to over $600. Please call around and don't go in there. I overheard them getting someone else the same way too. All they are interested in is your money not customer service or customer care. Pros: Disappointment! Cons: Come here only if you want to lose your money! more

Reliable car repair for Honda, Acura, Toyota, Subaru and Lexus 9/22/2005

One of the main reasons I bought a Honda instead of anything else is because I trust this place. The owner has been in business for 10+ years and my mom and I have never had any complaints. The owner explains things, tries to get me the best deal, and has never tried to talk me into unneeded work. Cost is equivalent to other repair shops; however, cheaper than dealership repair prices. Coupons are mailed out periodically to customers. e.g. 10% off any service or repair. PROS: Reliable, ethical, and fair prices CONS: located far from freeway in the middle of town more
