I have yet to have the "wow" moment at any Indian restaurants in Miami that I have had up North, but Imlee is not bad. I would say prices seem a little inflated, not a lot. The only negative I could think of is that the two times we have been here it did seem to take long for the food to come out. The restaurant has a nice ambience, and the food is prepared correctly. more

We didn't like it. Not sure if it was our selection or the place. more

I have been there twice. The first time, I entered this small restaurant with my wife and baby daughter. The restaurant was EMPTY but they said that they were booked (obviously, they thought that the baby would be a pain). We could not eat.\r \r The second time, I had the chance to eat. Again empty, but they make you feel on the phone like it is a big deal to get a table. Food was decent, but pricey.\r The staff do not know the menu (I could tell by their conversation with the other tables, especially the wines). I felt uncomfortable with their lack of service. Mostly Central American waiters who I guess the owner thought would look Indian-like enough... more

Overpriced Indian food that is mediocre at best (average plate $19-$29, small portions). The menu was void of many "native" dishes and lacked the array of curries available at other Indian restaurants. The staff is inattentive and unfriendly - some did not seem to have a full understanding of the menu. Cinnamon rice was overpowering, vindaloo was tomato based (tasted almost ketchupy), rogan josh tasted of cumin more than anything else. In Imlee's defense, the naan was excellent, but not worth going back for. more

The location kinda sucks but despite that I am willing to make the trip. Having had Indian in other cities I know it's not THE best you will ever have but definitely the best in Miami. Really yummy though if you're in the mood for something different. more

Take it from someone who knows. I am English and have eaten curry for as long as I can remember. The food is average at best and the prices are over the top. more

As a long time customer of Imlee, I have to say this place is DIVINE!!! The food is amazing and easily the BEST Indian food in Miami. The staff is wonderful and always courteous! I don't think they could 'sneak' the gratuity upon the customer, as I am pretty sure they give you a check and it is up to the customer to actually READ their bill before paying!!! more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 2/25/2009

Food is good, service okay, but not a very friendly staff. Beware, they randomly add the tip to the check without telling you (they even did this for a group of four). more

Imlee is the best Indian food I have had. The service is great and the owner is gracious to guests. Imlee is a destination when my husband & I visit Miami. more

Great food 12/21/2008

Best Indian food in Miami. Exotic dishes prepared to perfection, the restaurant is clean, the staff is professional and friendly. more

Quaint intimate atmosphere. Delicious food and fairly priced. Highly recommend. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 11/10/2008

This is a small location and very intimate, so it is recommended that you make reservations. The food is worth the small effort! Tasty dishes and not saturated with unnecessary fats. The presentation of the dishes is quite authentic. \r \r I would highly recommend this restaurant for its service and food quality. A good restaurant to take novitiates to and connoisseurs of Indian food. more

I would never have found this had some Indian friends not taken me there. The food was fabulous, the obvious complaint would be that the space is simply too small for the crowd it draws. more

GREAT Indian food, without the ""Coral Gables"" or ""South Beach"" price range! 2/13/2008

LOVE this place! We recently ""found"" this restaurant (about a year ago) -- after the Indian restaurant close to our home in Kendall (Punjab Palace) closed. There are only about 12 tables, so if you go for dinner at 6 p.m. or later on ANY night of the week, MAKE A RESERVATION. The gosht sagwala, vindaloo, tikka masala and jafrezi are all incredible. If you're trying Indian food for the 1st time or don't eat spicy food, you never have to worry; if you order something ""mild"", it will be mild. If you like moderately spicy food ( as we do), order your food ""medium"". If you want to drink lots of water and really get those endorphins going, order your food ""hot"". :-) Imlee's peshawari naan bread (with slivered almonds and raisins) or their garlic naan are a must-order. They have 2-3 kinds of Indian beer, and my favorite -- a delicious masala tea, served in the traditional Indian style, with milk. The true test of a good Indian restaurant: sharing the dining room with India-Floridians. :-) The food comes out quickly and the servers are very nice, but service at the **end** of the meal can be a little slow. There are usually no more than 2-3 servers, plus 1 person assisting with food running & filling water glasses, for the small but busy dining room. My husband & I have found it's best to ask for the check at this restaurant, 10 min. or so before we're ready to leave. Pros: Fantastic food, polite & helpful servers Cons: Busy parking lot, slower service on check delivery more

Excellent Food 8/27/2007

I recently visited this restaurant and found that the food was simply exquisite. Every dish was perfectly cooked, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The lamb (or mouton) was soft and not gamy, cooked in a tasty sauce. The chicken was soft as well, and you could taste all the spices that went into its preparation. Pros: Excellent Dishes more

Tasty food 7/7/2007

There are few indian restaurants in Miami and Imlee doesn't have the most friendly service, however, the food is exquisite. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city. Pros: Excellent food, Easy parking, Pleasant atmosphere Cons: Dining room is a bit small and lacks a foyer for waiting customers, Servers are not the friendliest but not rude more

wouldn't recommend at all 6/21/2007

Bad food...... but........ bad bad bad bad bad service. malai koftas were ok but naan tasted like rubber off of 1981 gm oldmobile spare wheel. Cons: bad service, bad food, small place more

worst indian restaurant anywhere 2/17/2007

Everything's good - try the eggplant 2/12/2006

While visiting Miami on business, friends from India took me to Imlee (and took me way out of the way to do so). Imlee's now on my list of great restaurants to visit in Miami for work or pleasure, but it was packed for dinner -- I learned that lunch is a smaller crowd. I think they accept reservations, so I'd recommend them. Pros: Food, Price, quality more

Imlee is a pretty little place, in a nondescript, plain Jane sort of way. It's neat and tidy and seems to be a favorite with locals. From the first bite of warm, chewy naan or...
