I took my car here to get a quote on a large repair (for an insurance claim). I also wanted an independent mechanic to look at the car. The owners were extremely rude to the mechanic and would not let him look at the car even after I called to give my approval. They asked me how I could prove who I was. Well, they have all my personal information, driver's license number, VIN number, home phone, etc. They could have easily called me back on my home phone to verify who I was, but wouldn't. Ridiculous.
After that I wanted my car released to me. I went in person to give them the fax number and claim number so they could fax the bill to the responsible insurance company to get paid. I told them that I would have a towing company pick it up that afternoon. They said fine. When the towing company arrived, they refused to release my car saying they did not get paid. I called them again, they were very rude to me. A comment was made that ""you wouldn't expect to walk out of a grocery store and not pay them"" - WHAT?? They were going to get paid by the insurance company- this happens all the time. And why did they say everything was fine when I gave them the claim info that morning? All I can guess is that they were upset that they lost a large repair job.
So, they got to keep the car over the weekend (and charge the insurance company for 3 more days of storage) until they actually received the check. Wait, it gets better. They charged the insurance company over $700. For what?
- to tow my car 5 miles and store it for about 10 days (outside in a parking lot - I know it was outside, the inside of the trunk was wet from the rain). An average tow for 5 miles is about $65. So, I am guessing that the insurance was charged over $600 to store it. Hmm, make your own conclusions. Their motto is ""we dare to be different"", well I'd agree with that.
