In Short
This sparsely furnished parlor features tables decorated with reproductions of surrealist M.C. Escher's infinitely intricate patterns. But owner, and magician, Michael Glaser performs no sleight of hand with the baked goods. The Parve (neutral) breads can be eaten with meat or with dairy are baked on-site, like everything else, on Wednesday nights. Thursdays, shelves are fully stocked with loaves of challah, danishes, eclairs, sticky buns and cookies. But like an Escher landscape, they're bound to disappear.
