Our food came out on time and was prepared just right. I would recommend this place to a hungry person the portions are huge! Service as ok but the food made up for it! I

Nice atmosphere and service, but food is bland and over priced for quality. Sauces were not up to par and lacked flavor. The veal Osso Bucco with risotto was rushed and tasted m...

Wonderful Attentive Waiters but... 10/14/2008

No wait time for a Tuesday night dinner, we where the second couple seated in the restaurant. We had the lentil soup which was okay and the ahi tuna appetizer which was ""okay"" it would of been better if the portion was larger and replacing the bitter red cabbage garnish with fresh basil or another vegetable. My husband had the penne with broccoli and grilled chicken. I had the special of the day which was fetuccini with porchini mushrooms. Both our pastas where not bad but bland, I asked the waiter for alfredo sauce which improved it somewhat. The tiramisu encased in a chocolate tulip cup @ Tiramisu Restaurant looked like a piece of art but it was the worst I ever had. Overall I would not recommend this place except for the wonderful sincere service by the attentive waiters..\r Cordially,\r I Andal, PA-C more

Awesome food & great place! 9/17/2008

The best Italian Food away from Italy! Try the ravioli with pink sauce and you can't go wrong! Also, the nightly specials they offer are always a good choice and you should venture off the regular menu and try them! I have eaten there several times and Peter & Ivo always treat me and guests like royality! Very pleasant atmosphere and always top-notch service and food. Good pricing. Excellent Food. Excellent Service. I highly recommend to all to eat there. Pros: Great food and good pricing! Cons: None! more

Go hungry! 9/11/2008

Four and a half stars? Outrageous!! The service and friendly atmosphere are worth 6 stars at least... then there's the food and the wine... c'mon people... wise up! Peter and Ivo have created a gem of a restaurant. Small and intimate, a real family place. When folks come in from out of town, always take them there for a great experience. NEVER disappointed. I order things that aren't on the menu all the time, and the request is met with a smile and a nod, never an attitude. Do yourself a favor... just go! Pros: Great food and service. Wine expertise like no other. Cons: Closed Mondays more

Love this place 8/19/2008

I love Il Tiramisu. Peter is always so friendly and welcoming, and the food is just fantastic. The minestrone soup is filled with fresh veggies, and the pasta dishes are done with just the right amount of sauce. The interior is really charming, too...definitely a good place for a romantic date. Of course the tiramisu is good, as is the creme brulee. I haven't had a bad meal there yet. Pros: Service, food, ambience Cons: None, they are great more

Dining Doesn't Get Any Better Than This! 6/26/2008

I came across the reviews here as I was searching for a map of IL Tiramisu to email a business associate and was compelled to write a review. Why, since I've been going there for about 12 years, regularly. I often have to offer up a place to meet for a lunch meeting and IL Tiramisu is the only place a go or take someone for business or pleasure. I also often take friends there for an event or their birthday. Each and everyone I've ever taken there have made it there favorite restaurant, hands down. From the cozy atmosphere, to the unbelievable service from the moment you arrive until you walk out the door. Oh the food! The glorious food. All completely home made and never a bad dish on the menu or the specials of the day. Ivo or Peter will most likely come by your table to check on you or chat for a moment, not in the annoying way that happens, it's like a welcomed guest who just walked by. You can't help but fall in love with them, but only after they have already fallen in love with you first. The owners are expertly on-hands in and out of the kitchen. This is what a restaurant should be from the moment you walk in until the moment you leave. If you bring a guest, prepare yourself to have a conversation about it later, it always happens to me, and then they bring a friend and so on. That's why this little restaurant is the best kept secret in the Valley. \r Extremely reasonable prices and the quality and taste of the food makes you wonder why your not paying double the menu price. That's probably because everything is fresh and homemade there daily.\r I've actually driven there (35 miles round trip) to pick up 2 bowls of their Minestrone soup (to die for) To-Go when I was ill once, I call it a bowl of penicillin. Their soups are fabulous and made fresh each morning.\r I can't recommend any other restaurant here or abroad that is a great as this. The Bad: There really isn't any, other than their hours and they're closed on Mondays. I guess they need a day off too. Pros: Great from beginning to end. Great prices and value. Cons: Closed on Mondays, sad for all of us. more

Great Experience!!!!!!! 6/9/2008

I haven't had a great food and services since I visited the Four Seasons Hotel in New York and also at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Half Moon Bay. The moment I walk in is this restaurant, I felt the friendly atmosphere from everyone there including the owner ""Peter"". They treat me like they knew me from long time. They made me feel like I was a regular customer there and this was my first time visiting this place. The food was excellent!! The waiter was very polite and acknowledgeable about the menue. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone who would like to have a great evening with your love ones. What a great time I had!!!!!\r \r Dr. Ampuero more

Best Family Restaurant 6/9/2008

We live around the corner from Il Tiramisu yet haven't been eating out much lately. We went there this weekend for the first time in weeks and had such a positive experience that I felt compelled to write a review!! From the food to the service we couldn't have been happier. We are always greated by Peter and his father (the two owners) and are ALWAYS treated like family. From now on we are going to try to dine there at least once a week. Il Tiramisu has everything you are looking for in a dining experience. I highly recommend it!! Pros: Warm atmosphere and great food Cons: Too many great deserts to choose from more

Best Italian in the Valley and best service in LA 6/9/2008

I went to Il Tiramisu for a business dinnrer and found the servce outstanding and the food to die for. When I heard the specials of the day I nearly fell off my chair. I did not think such gourmet cuisine was offered in the Valley. The service was over the top and was very impressed by the owners Peter and Ivo who introduced themselves and regularly came by to make sure everything was perfect. I will be going back! I highly recommend the grilled Salmon Special. Pros: Food and Service more

Great Food and Drink, Great Service & Reasonable Prices 6/8/2008

Dinner with co-workers brought me here for the first time five years ago and I was immediately hooked. Both Ivo and Peter Kastellan (father and son owner/operators) treat every guest like family and go the distance to see that everyone in your party enjoys their experience. Their monthly wine dinners are a great way to impress clients. The food arrangements are beautifully presented, unique, perfectly married pairings (I once had some chocolate fettucine that blew me away) and the wait staff keeps your glasses charged with generous portions. Whenever our extended families come to enjoy southern CA, my wife and I always take them to Il Tiramisu at least once. The specials are always great (the stuffed pork chop, Lake Superior white fish and the barca de pesca stand out as some of my favorites). I've also enjoyed many Dodger and Lakers games eating at their bar and solving world problems with Carlos the bartender. Pros: They treat you like family Cons: Parking (the valet service is getting better) more

Home run 4 food, service and decor! 6/8/2008

We were impressed from the moment we walked thru the door! The place is charming and spotlessly clean right down to the adorable decor in the restroom. The owners Peter and his father Ivo went above and beyond treating us like we were dinning in their home. The night we stopped in for dinner there were more that a few celebrity sightings. The owners made us feel like we were just as important. Equally as fabulous was the food. The salmon special was outstanding and done with such an italian flare equal to a dish I had most recently in Italy. My husband had the Osso Bucco outstanding! The place was packed and the owners were so accommodating as to creating a special pasta dish for one of our guests with food allergies. Places like IL Tiramisu are hard to find these days. We will be back again and again! Pros: food, service, decor more

Horrible Experience!!! 6/7/2008

Friendly staff...except for the Manager (Owner?) We came here today and had a terrible experience. We're with our 14-month old to have an early dinner (530pm) thought we could avoid the crowd. While eating and our toddler(sitting in high chair) was holding a teaspoon, a staff whom I thought and acted like the manager approached him and grabbed his teaspoon for no reason at all !!! A staff later told us he is the Owner. We felt driven away and immediately paid the bill then left. KIDS NOT WELCOME? THEN PUT UP A SIGN! If they've told us kids are not allowed, we would have gone elsewhere. They gave us a table knowing we're with a toddler, then even provided a high chair, then did this to our young one??? There goes the $80 dinner. more

Good food but overpriced 2/21/2008

My boyfriend took me here for dinner on Valentine's Day. I couldn't get off work in time but they were very nice and kept our reservations and seated us promptly even though we were 20 min late. I expected the Valentine's Day crowd, so that didn't bother me much. They had a prix fixe menu with only a few selections. I ordered a chicken dish and my boyfriend ordered steak. The food was okay, maybe a little bland, but definitely nothing extraordinary. Our bill came out to over $100 (including our 15% tip) for our 2 entrees and sodas. Nice place and decent food but not worth that much in my opinion. Pros: cozy, intimate setting Cons: no parking and overpriced more

5 Bellisimo Stars!!!!! 12/5/2007

If you're looking for Italian fare better than Italy, then you must visit Il Tiramisu Ristorante. My favorite is the Eggplant Rotini, however, I tried a bit off everyone's plate - the veal and chicken parmeseans are delicious, too! It's a very comfortable atmosphere for couples and families alike. We are treated to Il Tiramisu each time we visit L.A., but our local family are regulars here. Matter of fact, Peter and the staff treat you like family - very personal service. I rate them 5 Bellisimo Stars!!!!! more

You'd be crazy to go anywhere else.... 12/4/2007

Il Tiramisu has it ALL! As soon as you walk in, you're embraced by the staff and made to feel right at home. At the same time, the place exudes class. It's the perfect combination of warmth and fine dining. It's a cozy environment that could be ideal for an intimate date, a family gathering or a toast to friendship. The food is beyond excellant. Each time, I leave fantacizing about what I'll order on the menu next time. If you haven't been to this place, you have completely missed out and must make it your new year resolution to check it out. Give it one try and you'll be a loyal guest for life! Pros: Food, ambience, service Cons: Absolutely NONE more

Best Italian in Los Angeles!!! 12/3/2007

I've been going to II Tiramisu for 10 years now and It's excellent everytime. Peter and his father are 1st class and make you feel like a million bucks. A perfect place for a romantic night, a business dinner or a family outing. I've been to all the fancy LA high priced Italian joints and they can't touch'em. II Tiramisu is five stars. more

Five star food and service! 12/3/2007

My wife and I visit LA several times a year and always plan to dine at Taramisu. We have found on all occasions the food to be absolutely delicious and the service to be excellent. We rate Tiramisu as five stars. Whether you want a dinner for two or a family like ours, it is the best!\r Pros: Delicious food and top notch service! more

Warm family atomosphere and marinara sauce so good - you can drink like soup! 12/3/2007

Me and my family have been going to Il Tiramisu for over 10 years. We frequently go on romantic dates, take friends and host all family visiting from out-of-state. No matter what the occasion, Peter and his father go out of there way to make us feel like we are guests at their home. The staff is efficient, genuine and knowledgeable. Food....where do I begin. We continue to try everything on the menu including the nightly specials. Everything is brilliant.! I am a particular fan of the Melanzane, Veal Parmesean and herb Trout. My husband is religious about the Stuffed Pork chop, Grilled Steak and Chicken Parmesean. And, oh...did I mention the MARINARA SAUCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

One of my favorites!!! 11/29/2007

Il Tiramisu is a wonderful restaurant. From the moment you walk through the door, Peter and his father, Ivo, treat you like you are family. The food is fabulous too! From the Calamari Fritti to the Ravioli Maria to the Osso Buco. It's all amazing. You can't go wrong at Il Tiramisu! My only problem is I can never decide what to order! Great wine list too! With all the restaurants in Los Angeles, don't miss this one!! more

You feel like you're in Italy! 11/28/2007

This dining experience is wonderful! From the moment you walk in the door until you leave, with a full stomach, you feel like you're in Italy, maybe on a back street in the Northern part of the country, where everyone gathers for a great meal. The people who serve you are warm and fun! The food is always top notch. You know you are getting something special when you are presented with what you've ordered. You feel as if every meal is prepared just for you. My husband and I live within walking distance so when we have friends or family over we all walk to Il Tiramisu. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! more

I had a mouth-gasm. YUMMMMM. 11/27/2007

Hate to RAVE, but I must. The warm greeting made me feel like a welcomed long-lost relative. Attentive staff (unheard of), diverse wine selection (go with Peter's recommendations!). MUST try the MAC & CHEESE appetizer. yummmmm. Had the pastalicious special of the evening. No leftovers on my plate. It's like going home for Sunday dinner without the annoying relatives. Atmosphere was inviting, and I even loved the charm of the bathroom. This is a double yes. The menu was diverse and yet not overdone. It's nice to have the wait staff actually smile and notice when your water is empty. My wallet was not emptied and my tummy was left satiated. Now THAT'S a great dining experience. Pros: Valet is crowded, but they manage. Service unequaled ...but not pushy Cons: if you don't have a reservation, you might end up at a small table. more
