I find it difficult to believe I'm the first to report on this great place. Madison is one of those towns that exudes class and charm (and old money). I love their main street (Rt 24) and when I was a college kid many years ago, I would take dates from Hudson County here to window shop on Sundays (cheap dates by a cheap skate - OK, mostly broke).
Jump ahead 20 years - when I used to belong to a dinner club and a Madison local recommended we eat here. During the first visit, we all decided that we should come back again and we wound up going 5 or 6 times - each time better than the last.
Great chicken, shrimp, pasta, bread - none of us ate veal but they have it. Despite the fact that it's a BYO - you can run up a serious bill here. But this is a serious restaurant with seriously good food - I believe they offer great value. One more thing, make sure to ask about the daily specials.
If you want to enjoy a really terrific Italian meal without going all the way into NYC, give this gem in Madison a try. I am sure you will be delighted.
