Ifshin Violins

I just returned from my first visit to this nice violin place. I am looking for a violin for my daughter, as she wants to upgrade her violin. It is for this reason that I went to Ifshin in El Cerrito. We used to rent violin when they were in Berkeley. This new place is so nice and spacious. As I approached the front desk, I talked a young lady and told her why I am in the store. She was nice, but very cold and so sterile in her dealing with me. \r \r I asked her if I can handle the violin in the showcase that she was referring to me. She grudgedly handed the instrument as if to say: "Don't drop it." I felt that I was not welcome at all in their store. Honestly, I am very disappointed in this first visit. She was so fast in her answer to me that I could see and feel that she just want to get rid of me. Since there was another person behind me, I noticed too that she was looking pass behind me. there was no friendliness at all.\r \r I thank her and get out of that place as fast as I could. more

It says a lot about a place when you have world-class luthiers working at your shop, when you have orders from ALL ACROSS THE WORLD pouring into your store, and when your business pops up in the top 3 in Google when you type in the word "violin." Ifshin Violins is unparalleled for their painstaking devotion to the art of violin-making, violin care-taking, and the violin legacy. If you are a violinist and you do not find what you are looking for at Ifshin, then rest assured that you will NOT find it anywhere else. Staff is absolutely knowledgeable about EVERYTHING violin related. Almost all of the staff (and luthiers) are professional/concert violinists and are absolutely awesome and friendly.
