I have been to Japanese steakhouses all over the East Coast pretty much, because they are one of my husband's favorite places to eat. We went to this one on our 1 year anniversary last week. We were on our way to Kabuki, another one that is close by, but they were absolutely packed that night (it was a Friday night.) I wasn't really in the mood for this type of food, it was my husband's idea. I didn't think the food was outstanding, but it was really good. No better and no worse than your usual hibachi-style food. It may have been better to me if I been craving it! What did impress me was the chef. Usually, I get very annoyed at all the flame demonstrating and shrimp-throwing. I get paranoid when they start throwing stuff, I can just imagine my nose broken and bleeding at the table. Then, when I feel the heat from the huge flame show, I imagine my hair or clothes going up in flames. That is my kind of luck unfortunately. Also, I'm not really big into catching food in my mouth. I've never had a chef throw the shrimp my way before, probably because of the look on my face. This chef was really fun though, and laughed at himself.... laughed at us... and joked around with us. I can't remember his name though! I laughed for once, and I did catch a shrimp in my mouth. We will definitely go back.
