Iceland Sports Complex

Iceland has been improving the conditions of the facilities for the last few years and it is looking great. They offer lots of activities with a full schedule of open skates, figure skating lessons and competitions, and of course ice hockey programs for beginners through competitive travel league, high school, and adult leagues. They have summer programs and there is Gotcha Bocce upstairs with Angelina's Cafe. You can have a snack and watch the skaters below in comfort. They do parties and special occasions. Good ice, clean, open year round, 2 full sheets of ice, figure skating for beginners through competitive, Ice hockey for every age, youth and adult, at all skill levels from beginner and house leagues to AA and AAA travel teams. Birthday parties, group lessons, skills training for hockey, summer camps, tournaments, etc. Gotcha Bocce and Angelina's Cafe' are upstairs too, fun to play bocce ball (anyone can learn it quickly) and good food at Angelina's. Best place in town to get out of the summer heat and have some fun. more

This rink suffers from many shortcomings and is easily the worst ice rink I have ever seen in my time playing hockey (17 Years) and in multiple countries I have visited: US (to include rinks in FL, DE, NY, NH, NJ, and PA), Canada, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Japan. ICELAND has condensation issues that pit both sheets of ice, the arena maintenance is poor with the yellow base boards peeling back in many corners that interfere with hockey play, the Pro shop is understaffed, poorly stocked and rarely open, and finally the staff tends to be rude from the owner on down to the staff. It is unfortunate that this is the only rink in the Louisville area so far, and when a serious rink opens, this one will quickly be starved for business. I will give it 2 stars because it offers a wide variety of activities. If only it could adequately support them all... more

This skating rink and sports complex is open year round. They offer open skating at various times throughout the week and weekend. They also offer private and group skating lessons provided by the Louisville Skate Academy. You can rent figure or skates there. Ice hockey leagues practice and play games here. They are fun to check out. more
