Unfortunately the only ice rink in the state 12/5/2015

Staff are rude, for the most part. Music played during public skate inappropriate for children. "Pro" shop disappointing with rude, unhelpful, staff, for the most part. On the other hand, a hanful of staff are great. Would not frequent the establishment if there were another rink on Oahu. more

Ice palace more like ice dump 12/7/2011

wow they completely mess up when you go any where near reservation if you go to make one they will miss schedule and completely forget about any prier reservations for parties. Oh and dont even get me started on pricing you would probably save money by getting a plane ticket and going to Colorado to ice skate you would enjoy it a whole lot more, and the food, oh the food, its rubber, that's all I have to say. And the ice skates themselves they either are 5 sizes to big or they are so small the only thing that fits is your big toe. more

Fun when you want to avoid the sun. 4/1/2006

I love ice skating, so it's no surprise that I love gong to "The Ice Palace", Hawaii's only skating rink. At what I think is around $6.50 a person admission charge which includes rental for a pair of skates, it is a bargain compared to a lot of other activites, such as the $8.75 movie at ward theater. However, Oahu, with a population of about 800,000 often overcrowds the small ice palace which only has one olympic sized rink. Overcrowding is definitely a problem if you have little kids that are inexperienced skaters, so it's best to go when it's not peak hours (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons and nights) if possible. Some of the rental skates are pretty old and disguisting, but you definitely get use to it. Hey at $6.50, what do you expect? Ice palace is definitely a fun and affordable idea for family and friends if you're looking for something to do. more

Great for Birthday parties 12/31/2005

I used to go Ice Palace a lot a high schooler and it was a very fun place to hang out at. They not only have a skating rink but also have an arcade, a shop and eatery area. The rink is not as big as some people like it to be but it is a good size to go around in circles and practice some of your moves. They also separate an area where beginners can practice with assistance. A lot people have birthday parties there and you can reserve the upstairs area for a bunch of your friends at a very reasonable price. Overall, Ice Palace is a fun place to go! more

Cooling off in Hawaii 12/28/2005

If you want to cool off in Hawaii, go to Ice Palace and you will see what it feels like to really be cold. There is a huge parking lot so parking is not an issue. When inside, you will find a little shop that sells costumes, gloves, hats and other items you may need or want. There is also a snack shop perfect for buying hot chocolate when you start to feel the freeze. The ice rink is the only one on Oahu and it is fun to learn to skate around. They even provide skating lessons as well. If you get bored of skating or don't like to skate, there is even a video game area to play video games. This is great for birthday parties as well. more

Fun Entertainment 9/19/2005

The Ice Palace is one of my favorite places to go to. I really enjoy going to the Ice Palace for my families employee parties. They will close down the entire Ice Palace to the public in order to only let my parents and their kids enjoy their employee Christmas party. It is so much fun skating around the rink and listening to the wonderful music. I used to fall down all the time but now I can ice skate very well. We usually stay all night for the employee Christmas party. I like the cool temperatures also at the Ice Palace. more

Winter in Hawaii 8/20/2005

Ice Palace is the only ice skating rink in Hawaii. The cost of admission is about $7.50 which isn’t too bad considering that you can skate there for more than 4 hours which is less than the cost of a 2 hour movie. They also sometimes have games they let visitors play for free admission passes which is pretty cool. more

Beat the Heat 8/6/2005

Ice Palace is located in Stadium Mall right next to Aloha Stadium. It is the perfect place to hang out and beat the heat. The rink features a small area with trainers for beginners. Games are periodically held like hokie pokie, four corners, limbo and relay race. A great place to have fun. more

relatively inexpensive place to have a nice time with friends 8/4/2005

Located near the Aloha Stadium, the Ice Palace is a great place to have relatively inexpensive fun on a Saturday night. It is especially appealing when it gets humid or too hot, like it sometimes does in Hawaii. The food they serve there (along the lines of pizza and coke) isn’t too bad, although it is relatively expensive. Their closing times vary, so make sure you check them before you go, because 1.5-2 hours of skating usually gets your money’s worth. more

Honolulu's only Ice Skating Rink 7/10/2005

Olympic Size rink offers free skating, lessons, and team hockey. A fun way to get out of the heat. Older & needs updating, but I think most rinks are like that. Did you know that the World Champion figure skater is from Honolulu? They do birthday parties too. more
