A Must have Experience 11/12/2006

We were in a mood for experimenting with some exotic food in North Seattle and it seemed to fit the bill. It was definitely the reviews that enticed us, although we breathed a sigh of relief when we saw it filled with their locals, even at 3 pm. \r My spouse and I ordered AYAM GORENG BELADO, which was a Fried chicken simmered in a very spicy sauce (Equivalent to 7 stars). Within seconds my eyes and nose were watering but I couldn?t let that go. This was most definitely the Spiciest but the Yummiest Chicken dish I ever had. ?and believe me, I have had a good share of them. We also loved their IKAN BAKAR PEDAS MANADO which is a Manadonese Spicy BBQ Fish. Usually I am a little apprehensive about ordering a whole fish but it was very tasty, although less spicy that the Chicken dish.\r Also ordered SATE AYAM, which was BBQ Chicken on a stick but it was not as interesting and covered with peanut and sweet Soy. I would prefer the Thai Satay to it, any day. For Dessert we ordered fried banana which was another novel experience for us. Delicious!!!\r \r The staff is very nice and courteous. When they heard that it was our first time, they were quick to offer suggestions. But keep in mind that it?s Good food although not necessarily a fast one. The waitress forgot to get our appetizer but to their credit, it was adjusted complimentary in the bill.\r \r Initially I expected the food to taste like Thai or Chinese but was pleasantly surprised to realize that it was none.\r Overall I loved this unique experience. It?s seldom while experiencing a new cuisine for all items ordered to be good but this was AMAZING. I am sure this is going to be one of my favorite places. Pros: Interesting new Cuisine, good experience, Yummy food Cons: Food takes time to come to table more

Try something different 11/12/2006

\r One of my new favorites- I go out about every night and I often get tired of the same old Asian, Indian, etc. ? Indo Cafe offers some unique spices and flavors that you cannot find anywhere else in this area. They have great service and a good menu- I went with some Indonesian friends and they claimed it is authentic as you can get at a restaurant here. \r Pros: Great unique food Cons: Location more

Indonesian is my new favorite! 10/30/2006

A friend took me here for my birthday last Sunday. I am not the most adventurous person when trying out new food but i am pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant in the corner of a Northgate strip mall. The waiter is knowledgable and gave us a short intro to the Indonesian cuisine. He guided us to some of their specialties and customers' favorites. Their sticky rice thingy is rich and flavorful! I also enjoyed the spicy fish and the fried yellow rice. We even got a free dessert since it was my bday. How cool is that! This is becoming my new favorite dining spot! Pros: Great Food and Service more

Come at Happy Hour! 7/31/2006

Read the review on Seattle PI on Thursday and came with my buddies the next day. They were serving Happy Hour from 3-5pm. Appetizers and drinks were almost half off! We spent less than $50 for the three of us! We enjoyed the fried wontons and the yellow rice plate. Great food and atmosphere! Will definitely come again! Pros: great food, cheap, nice atmosphere more

Great Food!!! 7/24/2006

I am usually hesitating on the word of ?best?, because it?s just too personal. However, for this Indo Cafe, I could be very confident in saying that?s the best Indonesian food in town. One of our most frequent dinner spots!\r Pros: Great Food, Authentic, Friendly Staff more
