IL Cane Dolce

I was stupid enough to get three dogs at the same time. Not only just any three dogs, but three terriers.\r The in fighting at my house almost caused a divorce. My husband was ready to turn me out with the dogs!\r JoAnne became a marraige therapist, dog trainer and heaven sent. She was recommended to me by a lady in the park who had a brown dog (a mix?) who was so well behaved and happy. I, of course looked like some one at the end of thier rope, which I was with three little dogs yanking me and making me look like something out of a comedy of errors. JoAnne trained all three of my guys and now they know I am the one who gives the commands, the love and the structure JoAnne always stresses. I learned I am the pack leader and not one of the three have to vie for that position. I must've been making them crazy with my out of control screaming and frustration. Now at dinner time, the three of them, do a ""down stay"" like perfect little gentlemen. My husband loves them now and I feel order is restored in my home and with my dog pack.\r I feel so much more in charge! And they are so much happier. I was worried they would still fight and vie for position, but JoAnne kept encouraging me, telling me I was the one who needed to set that problem straight. She was spot on. We bring them to group classes that are included in her program and they love to show off in front of the big dogs. Everyone gets a charge out of them, and we love seeing them work so happily. IL Cane Dolce is suberb! JoAnn, upon our inital meeting clicked and tuned in with my screwy hound dog.\r He had NO focus and just like the dog whisperer on tv, she had his attention within minutes. It was a wild thing to behold. I couldn't get Larry to look at me, let alone sit. She had Larry under control within ten minutes. Imagine, what I got when I got him home! He is a different dog. He focuses on me now, instead of every bird, squirrel and sound in his range. He looks to me for the next direction. He is transformed!\r I swear she switched dogs on me. He doesn't bark at the air anymore, which I am sure my neighbors appreciate, and we have a lot more fun together, now that we have bonded in a more realistic way.\r Kudos to JoAnn. JoAnne has changed my dog! When I got Lola, my lab mix, she did basically whatever she wanted. I couldn't have made more mistakes with her in terms of letting her know who was boss. She dragged me all over the neighborhood, lunged at squirrels, barked and lunged at other dogs. You name it. I sent Lola to board and train and she has been much calmer and listens much better. From the second I brought Lola in for her consultation with JoAnne, I could see the dog that Lola could be. Whereas Lola would ignore pretty much every command I gave her, she immediately listed to JoAnne. Dogs respond happily to her no nonsense style, even after being corrected. Notably, I think the most important transformation was with me--JoAnne has trained ME to be the alpha in my house. Lola is a better dog for it. Our walks now are fun, and even calming. Lola was so happy there during training that I fired my dog walker and I take Lola to ""day care"" there so she can play with the other dogs. Every day she sits at that gate and waits to go in with her tail wagging! She used to be scared of other dogs! If you are considering training, boarding, ANYTHING, this is the place to go. With Pit bulls getting such a bad rap, I knew I had to train mine.\r My dog Buck is a perfect example of the breed, sweet, funny and loyal. I learned even with all of these attributes, he still needed to follow my lead. I knew I was going in for the basic commands, but my expectations were beyond what I had even hoped for. He looks to me for every cue, and we have more of a bond. His personality was always keen, but now it is more so, because he ""checks in"" with me. JoAnn has taught my wife and I that we should not scream at our dogs, both of whom, were very shy. She taught them to be more confident in city situations. We used to pick them up when we saw a big dog or heard loud noises. We thought we were comforting them, but what we were doing was making the situation worse for the dogs. i became a dog owner by defualt. my daughter is going off to college and she had just adopted a dog from the shelter. (i told her NOT to go there!) Of course, she came home with a terrior who is completely wacked out of his tree. leave it to her. but at least we started training before she heads back to ny. i would have gone insane. she attends the group classes until school starts, and i have been doing homework from home. the transformation is nothing short of a miracle. i can not believe this is the same tasmainian devil she brought home. he woulf zip around here so fast, no one could catch him, let alone get his attention to teach him anything.\r Il Cane Dolce has been wonderful. She kept ""Zippo"" an extra week and a half, to make sure he was ready to come home and start fresh with us.\r I don't have the pins and needles I used to have about Tammy going off to school and leaving me with her dog.\r I still am angry with Tammy, but at least the dog is nicer.\r Truly Zip's second mom Pros: I am free again! JoAnn helped me through a diffucult period with my dog. I also was not having much fun or success with my dog, (an Aussie Shep/mix) and some other things in my life were interferring with training and focusing on my dog. As a result, Nutmeg, was acting out in different ways.\r Once I learned from Joann that Nuttie was running me, and we needed some boundaries, things got a lot easier. I am now a stress free pet owner. (well mostly, and that is my fault) Class helps a bunch in tems of my learning what I am doing right and wrong.\r Anyone who needs help should call this lady. Joanne is an awesome all breed trainer. Since training with her and seeing the results of my own dog Bella, and also seeing the dogs in her class, I am amazed at how she does her job. I don't fully understand it. But the dogs respond to her in a relaxed and happy manner. She teaches clearly and I understanding what she is saying. Some other trainers make it so hard. I have been to a few. She seems to take the mystery out of it somehow. My dog looks at me so differently and responds to what I am saying, and I think even what I am feeling. Bravo! JoAnn is not only a real dog person, she treats all of her dogs as though they are her own.\r I did the two week board and train and my dog came home happy and much more focused.\r She turned my ""spaz"" Golden into a well behaved and welcomed member of our household.
