So shocking that this could happen in a business 12/16/2011

This is not my first time visiting this establishment, but it most certainly is my last. My cousin and I decided to eat at Ihop on Jimmy Carter Blvd. The food was great, no complaints there. The waitress needs more training (you are not suppose to reach over a patrons plate, and I would rather you not take my straw with you when you give a refill. The major problem started when, I get the check and I go to pay. I noticed that they were doing a promotion, buy a $25 gift card, you get a $5 coupon. Since our meal was $21.15, I decided to buy a gift card and then pay for my meal, in two different transactions, ( I expressed that to the waitress). She immediately called over the manager and relayed what I was trying to do. With a smirk on her face she told me no, I was not able to do that, it is for the next visit. The waitress is now laughing and the manager is still trying to explain to me why I can't do it, which is not making any sense to me. (What they failed to think about at that time, a gift card is already paid for and there is no way I can get that money back in cash form. They would have had my business if this had gone over better. Its your promotion, it is a shame that you lost a customer over a five dollar gift.) By this time, another waitress, comes up to the register, voiceing, ""we not gon' lose our job over that"". Im like, who asked you anything. She responded something like, Im grown and I can talk when I get ready. This time, I told her I was not speaking to her and I was already speaking with the manager, so why she said anything I DONT KNOW. I gave up on the battle because, it was pointless and shocking how that happen. I gave my card to be swiped and needless to say, there was no tip. (I'm usually a decent tipper--but the laughter, and non-professional behavior, I couldn't do it.) I left out of Ihop stunned and realized I had not gotten any names, besides the one on the receipt. My cousin called and got the managers name. About 15 minutes later, the manager called my cousins phone (caller ID) and I get the phone and she apologized and she said she spoke with the owner and was told she could give me the $5 coupon. I told her I did not want it now, that offer came to late, and that I will NEVER eat at that location again. I let her know that I was going to report them and they will not get my business, and I quickly ended the conversation. One day later, Im still thinking about what happened yesterday at a restaurant. more

Good Food, Prices and Service 11/2/2007

IHOP has been around for years and whenever I go to one, I am never disappointed. I recently went to this location and received the same treatment that seems to be the standard of all IHOP's. Even though it looked like it was crowded, my wait to be seated was not as long as I anticipated. My server was excellent. Prompt, courteous and checked back several times to make sure I had everything I needed. I went to try their stuffed crepes that they were running as a featured item and they were excellent. I would recommend them if you are looking for something different than your standard or typical breakfast. It doesn't matter whether you go for their signature breakfast items or something a little different, bring the family out for a pleasant breakfast dining experience. The food was prepared properly, the service was excellent and the price would fit any individual or family budget. Pros: Excellent service, good food, value more
