I shopped around at several shops in the Portland Vancouver area and the last was I-5 driveline. As soon as I met Lou I knew he would do the work. He built me a custom driveshaft for my 67 Plymouth that was beautiful and reasonably priced. Thanks Lou I'll be back!!! Skip D. more

The most upfront and honest business man I""ve meet! I ve gone to Lou more than once and he has always kept his word! I delt with woodys 4X4 and had a bad seal on the output shaft of the trany. They told me it would be 150$â?¦.. Called Lou, and it was less than a third of the cost. Plus I felt like I was at my friends shop! more

We snapped a drive line on or 72' Ford Dump, and ! 5 Drive line hooked us up He did awesome work and offered us a selection of heavy duty parts. He was on it and was reasonably priced. I would refer him to anyone that needed quality work done. more

You can't find a better place to 4/6/2012

You can't find a better place to repair, rebuild or put in a new driveline. Small operation but Huge on performance. He does things right and service isn't a four letter word like it seems to be at so many places. more

I had my driveline shortened by an 3/5/2012

I had my driveline shortened by an inch after I did a trasfercase swap. Great service very hepful and educational. I highly recomend Lou. It was a good decsion to make the drive to Vancouver. more

Drive line shortened on my 78 El 2/14/2012

Drive line shortened on my 78 El Camino, new U joints, new yoke, drive line was painted and weld was in great shape. fit perfectly into the car. no complaints, friendly owner and fair price. more

After a transmission swap in my 69 1/17/2012

After a transmission swap in my 69 Chevy my driveline needed to be shortened and change yoke to match tranny shaft. Called based on reviews here and my experience matches all the other 5 star reviews. Above work performed plus my bent shaft (I wasn't aware) is now straight via heat shrinking - no more giant balance weights in place that I carried in the door. And yes, I got to watch the magic and enjoy Lou's conversation. I highly recommend Lou for driveline service and associated work you may need. I had hoped I might get the driveline back in a week, completely amazed to have it done in one visit - and with a show. Minimal weights in place now, rust is gone, nice paint job. Too bad you can't see it. One other thing, treats for my dog - tail wag in appreciation. more

This place is a hiddden jewel! 10/29/2011

My truck needed the entire rearend rebuilt and Lou did a fantastic job! He was very thorough in explaining what needed to be done and how he would do it. I wanted to upgrade to a posi unit and he had no problem with me sourcing my own parts and installing them for me. He was done quickly, his rates were very reasonable and I'll definitely be back with more business for him. Thanks so much, Lou! (and Kris too!) more

I5 Driveline Repair is a great shop. The friendly atmosphere and exceptional workmanship made the wait more like a visit with and old friend and a learning experience. Old school service with expert knowledge and skill!! 7/30/2011

I went in because my truck had a lot of vibration. Found that the drive line was twisted bent and dented. U-joints were also toast. He fixed it right there and let me hang out and watch. It was really cool to see him work when he put it on the balancer it was obviously badly tweaked. He worked it over with skills you could only acquire with lots of experience and had that thing straight as an arrow and balanced just right in no time at all. Driving away I felt good could immediately feel the difference. And the price was very fair. I will certainly go back. I have not had a good experience at an auto shop in a long time. It's good to see there are some good ones still out there. more

I5 Driveline 7/19/2011

Had a great experience with I5 driveline. I went in for 2 u joint installations and a driveshaft balance. He was very nice, and did a great job. I left with a sanded and painted driveshaft. He also offered advice on checking other components to diagnose/fix my vibrations. more

I 5 driveline 7/14/2011

i recently did a solid axle swap on my bronco 2 and need to get my front driveline choped down a few inches. i called and he told me to drive it there and he would look at it. he told me what needed to be done and how much. it dident take long at all for him to do the work and he let me watch and hang out in the mean time. the finished product was awsome and i will go back whenever i need driveline help. great guy and he has been doing drivelines for years! top quality work! more

I had my driveline for my dirt modified straightened, balanced and shortened. He did the work why we waited. Excellent guy and top quality work. I will not go anywhere else. Truley an outstanding person that does top quality work. Could not be more impressed!!! more

Excellent work! 5/15/2011

Brought my 1991 Mazda 929 in to I5 Driveline to have Lou take a look at my u-joints. When I accelerated it had a noticable vibration coming from the backend. Lou showed me the nearly frozen u-joints causing the vibration. Ordered a replacement and had me on the road as soon as the part arrived. Definitely recommend his work. A shop you can trust! more

I 5 Driveline 4/4/2011

\r I pulled my 04 Silverado 4x4 into I 5 at 5:45 because it had a rear end clunk. I was hoping to get an opinion on what was going on, what I got was Lou. Hes a very cool guy who is extremely knowledgable. Lou stayed until 7:00, balancing my driveline and tightening my pinion nut, which made a vast improvement. Although when we cracked the rear diff cover Lou gave me the bad news that the clunck was my diff needing to be rebuilt. (Govlock piece of crap). I will definately be going back to have Lou do the work. I 5 is a great shop and I highly recomend them. more

i5 driveline 2/28/2011

Took my 91 mustang in there today cuz it felt like i was driving with 39.5 super swampers on it needed new u joints and my driveline was bent also he tightened down my pinion nut down painted the drive line balanced it and even saved me a little money to sum it up the guy did a great job i would advise you to go there if you want the job done fast and right i paid a little over 200 for a job that would have costed much more anywhere else i even learned something while there go in there and see what you can learn and save!to top it all off he stayed late to help my stiuation. more
