Located in a small strip mall next to SR520 in Bellevue, ""I Love Teriyaki"" looks like a typical teriyaki place. However, this family owned shop will instantly make you feel like a part of the extended family. After just a few visits, the owner will greet you by name and, if you're like me and are pretty consistent, she'll know your order before you even ask. The portions are generous and there is complementary soup, water, and tea (self-serve). The rice is fantastic...so fantastic that my wife was compelled to ask how they do it: they have a special high-volume, high-temp, gas powered commercial rice cooker. Not the sort of thing you're going to be able to pick up in Chinatown. What really sets this place apart is the service, which as I mentioned is super friendly. One time, I brought my young daugther, who almost always gets the udon noodles...only they had run out of noodles. My daughter was so disappointed that the chef ran home to pick up some yakisoba noodles that they had at home (luckily it was after the lunch rush and they weren't too busy). Now that is truly ""above and beyond"".
Pros: Super friendly, great teriyaki, free soup/tea, inexpensive
Cons: Limited to teriyaki, some Chinese, some Korean
