I had an alarm system put in my work truck. I was told it would only take about 4 hours to install. It took 16. I have had nothing but problems with it as well. Ignition has locked out on me twice. Called them and their techs had no idea how to get it going. That cost $ 160.00 to get towed home on a flat bed. They came and fixed it the next morning...yeah right. It happened again and the owner had me disconnect a module to get it going. They still have not done anything to make it right. Hire at your own risk. more

100% Hands down best service and work I could have ever expected. I went in with my 2012 ford focus looking to have a pre-loaded enclosure that I purchased through Hyper installed and hooked up, but ended up purchasing a capacitor, a DB Drive amplifier, installation, and a Plati-Dip job on the wheels. The sound system sounds AMAZING and the bass is way more clean than I thought I would get with a loaded enclosure i bought for $250. The wheel job they did amazed me as well with an unbeatable price and amazing quality. I definitively plan on doing more business with Hyper Audio in the future and will confidently tell anyone Hyper Audio does amazing work. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/2/2012

Hands down best audio store in Houston, I recommend to everyone! Also one of the few stores that carry Digital Design products that are handmade in the US. The service is amazing, they love what they do and make sure it is done right. He saved me money on a few things he thought were not necessary for sound quality and gave me the better options of where to put that money. My jaw dropped when i saw the finished product in my Tahoe, it was above and beyond anything i was expecting. People ask me all of the time where I got my car done and say it is the best sounding and coolest looking system they have ever seen. You will get the exact sound you are looking for, once you tell him your thoughts he will guide you through the rest with options and different price ranges. I will not take my cars anywhere else but here whenever i want work done in the future. If you live ANYWHERE in Houston and want the best quality sound system you should drive out to Katy, you wont be disappointed! more

Houstons best audio shop 4/30/2012

I have been going to Hyper for a few years and I have never been let down by them. They have done a full custom interior for my Ford F-150, for me to take my truck back to a shop consistently means they are doing something right. The gentleman in the store front was more than willing to give me all the information for their products and he took the time to explain and build the perfect audio system for me. He never tried to sell me the most expensive components that they sold, but he helped me pick the right product for what I was going to use it for. Most shops try to sell you the most expensive things on the shelf, but they did not try to do that for me. Also their craftsmanship at this shop is the best I have seen. I was given way more than I had paid for. They never passed up the little details that most do not notice. They made sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend this place to all my friends and all that are in the Houston area that are looking to upgrade their audio system. I am also looking forward to taking all of my vehicles to Hyper Audio. more

Houstons best full service car audio 2/7/2012

I recently brought my new f-250 to hyper audio, my experice was excellent. I had a limited budget to spend on the audio system. The gentlemen were more than willing to explain to me that I did not need to purchase half the product the other shops were trying to sell me. I spent litteraly half the cost I was quoted at the other shops in the area. my audio system sounds superb. my kids love the flip down monitor that I was able to purchase with the extra money that I saved. I highly reccomend this establishment. more

Great customer service 10/12/2011

It's rare to find a service shop these days that will take the time to explain what is going on as well as go the extra mile to get your project completed. I have had a number of different systems done by Rafael and Hyper and always come away pleased. Recommended. more

GREAT WORK 8/8/2011

Hyper Audio did an amazing job on my truck. I have an f-150 and wanted a completely new stereo. From touch screen, subwoofers, speakers, lighting etc. They did a great job on my truck and it is exactly what I wanted. Rafael worked with me on the job and he is a great guy. As soon as I talked to him I knew he would be the one installing the system in my truck. HIGHL RECOMMEND hyper audio! Their work is 5 stars. The guys there are very friendly and know what they are doing. Very pleased and would go back any day to add to the truck! Great job Hyper Audio! more

THE BEST IN KATY FOR CAR & TRUCK AUDIO 6/15/2011

Hyper Audio I highly recommended them for anything you need for car & truck audio. They do a 100% to make the customer happy. Here is and example I had them put my sons Halo headlights and tail lights on & audio before I shipped out to him at Camp Pendlton in San Diego,Ca. They did a great job. The trucking company broke my sons tail lights during delivery. Its was the holiday weekend and Hyper Audio bent over backwards to resend my son tail lights to him. I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THEM FOR ANYTHING YOU NEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( THEY ARE A LIFESAVER.) Charlie G. more

Great Place 3/27/2011

This place is great, i took my car here to install 2 12"". They gave me a really good price on 2 kickers, box, wiring, amp and installation. All the work that they do is very neat, just give them the time they need and you'll be very satisfied with the work. The system in my car thumps hard and I can't be happier with the work that they did to my car. Highly recommended to go here because they do almost anything. They do a lot of exotic cars too so no worries. Thanks Raphael more

broke my radio and refused to fix it 3/14/2011

I took my car in with a flip screen and navi. The radio powered up and worked fine other than the navi would not calculate the distance to the destination. They said it was because a wire was not installed to the cruise control and would be 150 to connect one wire. I wanted it to work so I agreed and left my car. When I went to pick it up I paid drove it off and had the same problem. I called them back the same day and they said they forgot to work on it and bring it back. The next time I drop it off they tell me the next day when I went to pick it up that they did not have time to work on it. So again I have to bring it back. The third time they tell me to leave it with them for 2 days which turned into like 5 when they finally told me they cant fix it at all. I go to pick it up and now the radio does not turn on at all. They would not fix it or refund any money more

This shop is GREAT! HIghly recommend. 1/3/2011

This shop is great and their staff gave me more than what I was looking for. I took my 2010 Mercedes CLS 550 and just wanted to make the car sound better than the factory stereo system. I got online as most of everyone does these days and looked for someone to work on my vehicle. I found a few places and after speaking with all the shops that I found, Hyper was the only one that was familiar with my model. I did a little more research, I read the reviews that Hyper Audio received, it wasn't bad, of course who usually takes time to post something unless they have to complaint or whine. As an attorney would look at things, there is always two sides to a story and after speaking to them a second time I decided to take my vehicle to this shop out in Katy, Tx. I accidentally went to another shop and they wouldn't tell where they where. I had punch the wrong address on my nav. When I got there I was greeted by Ralph and immediately went out to my vehicle and took the time to listen to my music selection. We installed a new amplifier, speakers, and sub. My system sounds great. The custom enclosure in the trunk was out of sight , installation was not noticeable. Hyper had my vehicle for 3 days, it was well worth it. I didnt think we could achieve the same sound in my vehicle as I have in my house. I also had a Passport 9500CI radar detector installed, works awesome. I dont feel that the price needs to be mentioned. I feel that good work with good people should be rewarded!!!!! Highly recommend!!!!!! more

about time 9/27/2010

well first off i've got an 06 tahoe i've had a major electrical issue with the factory bose system that was in the vehicle i've gone to the dealership who refused to try to trouble shoot the vehicle it kept blowing the main amplifier fuse and could not find out why they went over and above what any of the other shops including the dealership would and after a couple of tries they we're able to nip it in the bud and I'm very satisfied with the work thanks very happy customers. more

GREAT WORK AND SERVICE 7/14/2010

I am not one to write reviews but felt that I had to let you know about my recent experience at this establishment. Hyper audio did a FANTASTIC job on my convertible car and recommend this shop to anyone needing car audio or wheels in the Katy, Houston area. The stereo sounds great and the rims for my vehicle are kick *%@ !!!! After shopping around for months at many of the local shops, I decide to do business with them because of their knowledge and honesty. I could of wasted a bunch of $$$ but they showed me that I was looking at the wrong equipment for my vehicle and the advice that other shops had suggested was not functional for what I was looking for. The rims(HRE) that were installed in my car are thousands dollars cheaper than the competitor. In fact, my friend that I recently sent there also got the same treatment and courtesy......... I will continue to send my friends to them. Pros: KNOWLEDGEABLE, CORTEOUS, HONEST more

Great Work 5/21/2010

Surrounded by the variety of businesses on Mason Road in Katy, Hyper Audio is probably the best place in town to have custom audio work done. They've got high quality brands to choose from, and if you ask nicely, will do free installation. They were able to help me out in a pinch when the failure of my factory speakers caused my amp to go out. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon, and within a couple of hours, I was able to drive home with four new Memphis speakers and a replacement for my burned out amp. They were quick, and reasonable.\r \r The man working the front (salesman? owner?) seemed a little standoff-ish. He wasn't rude or anything, but just seemed to have other things on his mind other than customers. However, he was very knowledgeable about all sorts of brands, and was able to satisfy all of my questions. Once the work was done, a technician was friendly enough to explain to me everything that was done, showed me how it was wired, and even sat there and adjusted the levels until it sounded the way I wanted it.\r \r I live in Austin now, but for all of my audio needs, I'll be driving back to Katy to come here. Pros: Knowledgeable, custom work, friendly, flexible Cons: Guy working the front seems to have other things on his mind more

Worst Place in Katy For CAR Audio Systems 2/18/2010

First off let me say if I could rate this a 0 instead of a 1 star I would. When I went there, the main guy there told me that my car would be taken care of which it was clearly not. I got a 800 dallar system that somewhere else would of cost me 450-500 range. The front salesman Rofleal or something, told me it would have no problems and to bring it to him if I did. Well, in the first month my sons amp overheated and shut off. We took it back to him just to hear him say comeback tomorrow. So I did. Then he said the same thing. I went up there over a dozen times complaining about it but nothing. I advise YOU NOT TO GO THERE FOR ANY REASON. IF YOU DO BE PREPARED TO COME BACK ""TOMORROW"". Pros: Only pro they have is a front door to leave. Cons: Sales, integrity and honesty more

Snow Job 11/7/2009

I was impressed by what I thought was a very experienced crew at Hyper Audio. The owner kept telling me about the high dollar installs they've done and the vast years of experience of his installers. He said on a few occasions that he'd been doing this so long he could hear frequencies that other people couldn't. In my opinion the talent of the installer is the most important thing to consider in car audio so this must be the shop for me. Well....I wasn't buying any equipment from Hyper, but was only having them install my equipment from my previous car. He got me in quickly to do the job. They sent me home with the gains so far off that at 20% volume on the radio I was getting distortion. The crossover on the front speakers was set so high I was missing all the mid frequncies. And...(Here's the best part...) rather than running stereo wires from the radio to my amp, the installer split the right channel in two, sending the right signal to left and right. I can only assume that this ""incredibly experienced"" installer was either lazy or not incredibly experienced. To top it off, he mounted my amps under my seats and rightside up (which is what I'd asked for) but mounted completely flush with the seat with absolutely no room for ventilation (which I specifically asked him not to do.) \r On my own, I removed the amps to readjust the crossover points and the gains, but I couldn't rewire the amps for a stereo signal. I tried listening to it this way at about 80% volume and the amps got painfully hot to the touch.\r To his credit, the owner told me to bring it in and he'd fix it so I made an appointment and took it in. I have a baby, so taking the car in and loosing it for the day takes some preparation. I showed up the morning of the appointment and he tells me its not a good day, we'll have to reshcedule. He would have called me but he lost my phone number (even though it is in his work order ledger and likely in the caller ID on his shop phone and iPhone.) This happens again on another day so he says he'll pick up my car at my house, fix it, and bring it back. Great. Well.... I call his cell at 8:30 like he told me to and no answer. Call again at 9:00. Again at 9:30. Somewhere arround 10:00 he answers and tells me he's having car problems and can't come by. We try this again next week. Call at 8:30, 9:00, 9:30, 10:00. Call the shop at 10:00, 10:30. Somewhere arround 11:00 he answers and says he doesn't have a car or anyone working there with a car (I guess they all walk out of respect for the environment) to pick me up, but someone is comming in that afternoon and he'll do it then. About 3:00 I call and he says it isn't going to happen. That is the fourth time I've lost a day to this guy. I tell him I'll bring the car in myself the next day (requiring me to track down someone to give me a ride on a weekday and stranding me and my son at home.) \r They do the work and to their credit....The Wired the Raio in Stereo! (Fireworks and a band starts to play...) They dropped the amps as I'd asked them to in the first place, but rather than rebuild the brackets to give the amps ventillation, they simply tack on a board to space it out. The new board isn't well covered in carpet, so it looks bad. The corners are sharp and only time will tell if having two peices screwed or glued together will be strong enough to hold the amps. To top it off, one of the amp brackets is now wiggly. I'll be surprised if one or both of them doesn't fall eventually, but at this point I don't trust Hyper Audio to do anything to my car. \r \r Bottom line, I paid over $400 for LABOR ALONE (plus some RCA kits) to install two sets of door speakers (guess I could have tackled that on on my own) and two amps. Would up with subpar work and a lot of headache. I would strongly recommend you look elsewhere and not be distracted by the snow job you'll receive at Hyper Audio. Pros: Owner is a good salesman Cons: His selling distracts from their second rate work more
