Very happy with my new Vet 5/20/2011

Dr. White and his staff are really great. I recently went in there for an exam for my dog and was really surprised. The last Hospital that was here was terrible. It is like night and day now from that terrible place. The girls up front and very kind, and knowledgeable. They actually knew what I was there for, and didn't act annoyed or surprised that I was coming in. My dog immediately greeted them, something she never does at the Vets office. Dr. White was very friendly. thoroughly examined my girly and answered all my questions. I have never felt like my previous vet ever really listened to my little concerns. Seems very knowledgable. I completely agree with what his staff refers to as "preventable maintenance". Exams yearly, bloodwork and all that. Gets expensive, im not going to lie, but worth it if it means I'm not paying thousands to get her better after not paying attention before. Didn't know vaccines are every 3 years now. Wouldn't recommend 3/10/2011

I recently switched from dr do motor & was very hesitant with trying a new vet. I took my dog in & I waited for over an hr & a half & was about to leave. Dr. White tried selling me a new flea medication which I did not want. My dog is on a great one already. He looked @ my dog all in about 3 minutes & said he was fine. I had a 2nd appointment for a wellness exam for my cat. This was just a routine check up. They called the day before & told me the cat needs to fast for 12. Hrs because she may need blood work. The cat is 6 yrs old & in perfect health. I gave never heard of making an animal fast before a routine check up. I canceled & switched to dr. Garcia who I love! The ladies up front @ dr. White's office were very friendly. more

$2,000 Misdiagnosis 9/22/2010

Dr. White diagnosed dog as having torn ACL in back knee. Opened him up, said there was no tear afterall, must be arthritis or joint problems (keep in mind the dog was about 18 months old), closed him back up, and charged us over $2,000. Went to Arc. Small Animal Hosp for second opinion after our dog wasn't getting better. Dr. Klause said he was convinced he had a torn ACL, so we agreed to another surgery and sure enough, he did tear his ACL. Due to that misdiagnosis, I cannot recommend Dr. White. On another topic, I always got the feeling it was all about the money and the art of the upsell. more

Outstanding Unlike Any Other 7/30/2010

I would like to say that with needing to change veterinarians, I have been very satisfied with the care and attention my beloved "babies", all 4 (three cats and a dog), have received from Dr. White and his staff. Previously, i went to another veterinarian care facility, and absolutely adored each and every veterinarian there, but could not, and would NOT, put up with the callous and cocky attitudes of the front desk staff, so I made the very difficult decision to change from that facility I went to for 13 years, to go to Dr. White's practice. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly and welcoming personnel who were not only interested in ME as a person, but also, my beloved menagerie. One of the people who works at the front desk formerly worked at my former veterinarian; this wonderful lady, Danielle, has helped bridged that transition to a new veterinarian but offering a sympathetic and empathetic ear. Love this Hospital!!! 7/27/2010

Cannot express how much we love bringing our dogs and cat here to see Dr. White and his staff. The first time I walked in the door I was hooked. Not only is the front staff very friendly and attentive but the Hospital itself is impecable. Doesn't even smell like a regular vets office. And above all, Dr. White is great. Very knowledgeable and attentive to my pets needs. Never too busy to answer all of my (many) questions. Get answers everytime to all my issues and if there is something he can't figure out he won't quit until he does. I recommend him HIGHLY to anyone who is seriously about their pets care. My whole family goes there now and I have yet to refer someone who has been displeased. more

We love our vet! 3/30/2010

1st met Dr. White at VCA where he diagnosed our dog with Addison's even before the test (which confirmed his diagnosis). He was very thorough and did not want to over medicate her. After he left VCA another dr started giving her steroids and extra tests, etc. which just made her worse. Once I found him again we went back to him and although his prices are higher, he kept her monthly injections the same price as at VCA. We love the staff and even though our dog still doesn't like vets, she does love to see all the girls when she visits. They all come out and "love" her. We do have pet insurance which I am thankful for, and they are more expensive than other vets but it is worth every penny. I trust him (and all the staff) to take care of Lucky completely. I'm sorry that some have not had good experiences but we've always been happy with each visit. more

Good Vet Hospital 1/28/2010

This is a very good hospital. The prices are sky high but that is my only issue. I have taken my cat there for over a year now and I am happy with the way they treat him. I trust Dr. White and will continue to bring my cat there. I have had some problems in the past with staff billing me wrong, but it got straightened out. Everyone is very nice and they care about the animals. I would consider getting Care Credit vs. pet insurance. You can use it for anything medical including your pet. Being unemployed and financially "broke" right now, I have put all my vet bills on Care Credit. It helps in vet emergencys and care which are quite expensive. I would highly recomend Dr. White. more

Not impressed 1/27/2010

The doctor is great, the staff wonderful except for a few of the girls up front. The one they call concierge should not have any contact with the clients. My Aunt came home so upset with the way she was talked to by this person. My Aunt will not be back to this place, she has decided to seek another vet. There is another girl that seems to be interested in checking her cell phone. The office manager needs to keep herself covered up. more

Mixed Review 5/7/2009

Dr. White and his staff saved my dogs life and convinced me to stick with the treatment when I was ready to give up. I am thankful to them for that. It is definitely more expensive than other options, though. What really bothered me is that after spending thousands of dollars with them, they would not agree to allowing me to fill my pets' prescriptions online to help me keep my costs down. more

My dog was healed 3/26/2009

For one year I had desperetsly been jumping from vet to vet all over town, in hope to find a vet who could heal my dog from a scratch allergy she had on her skin. After one year of desperate home, I heard about Huntington Vet, so decided to take her in, although I had little hope she would be cured. That was the only Hospital that took care of my baby's skin and now both her and I are soooo grateful. It was also affordable for me. Thank you so much to you. I strongly recommend this vet. They are not only honest, but were able to heal my dog I love. Pros: This is the VET YOU NEED to go to !!!! more

The best you'll find anywhere 1/14/2009

I have taken my boxer dogs to Dr. White for about 15 years. Dr. White is outstanding as a vet and has exception medical knowledge for diagnosis purposes. I received a Boxer from BRLA (Don't adopt from BRLA as most their dogs are sick) and within a couple of days the dog could not walk or eat. We took the dog in to be Euthanized, but upon examination by Dr. White we found he had Myasthenia Gravis, and extremely rare disease, the sister to Lou Gehrig's disease. After working on the proper medication, he is alive and well today, five years later, thanks to Dr. White. Dr. White is a very sensitive and excellent doctor. \r \r Those who have had bad luck, it is unfortunate, But you can't go wrong with Dr. White. Yes, veterinary prices are high today, but that is because he has new state of the art equipment, which most vet's don't have, which gives your animal a much better chance at life. As to itemizing the bill, why not. People holler because they don't know what the charges are more

Really impressed 7/18/2008

I went to Dr. White before when he was with VCA. I have used other vets in the area, and haven't been all that happy so I thought I would give his new hospital a try with two new adopted (and sick) kittens from the Baldwin Park Shelter. I was very impressed with the appearance of the hospital and the friendliness of the staff. I had no wait at all (unlike both VCA and Dr. Domotor's where I ALWAYS have to wait at least 30 minutes). Dr. White was courteous and thorough in his examination. He did not immediately order blood tests (many vets do on kittens) telling me to wait until they are a little older - I appreciated that.I have a lot of experience with cats and dogs (and lots of vets) and felt that his charges were right in line. Me and the kitties will certainly return! more

Quite expansive 3/6/2008

If you don't have a insurance be prepared to get shocked when you receive the bill. The vet is good but the charge is like seeing a human doctor or more. Also, they itemize everything and then adds up to a huge sum. more

Dog Check 1/4/2008

This place was clean and in great condition. Vet took a little long to meet us in the room. Our dog liked him the female staff was very friendly, expecially the lady from Texas. The only male staff there was just okay. My only compliment is to the Vet, Lady from Texas and Andrea I think her name was. Older lady there sitting in front just kept complaing can I go home now..okay well I give this place a good rateing...I do recommend them... more

Dr. White 11/30/2007

We have been a loyal client of Dr. Whites for 10 years. He has been so good to our dogs and to our family. We recently lost our dog Sophie due to kidney failure and Dr. White was kind and helpful with the whole sad proccess. We now have a new dog Kali and we will only have Dr. White take care of her as well. The staff is great and we feel lucky to have such a great vet right here in Monrovia.\r Kim Collins more

I just had to comment on Dr White and his staff and let people know how caring they really are! I was saddened that the other people were so bitter with their lives to be so negative to a wonderful facility!! I highly recommend this Dr and hospital! I have taken my dog there for both medical treatment and boarding and have been very happy with the experience! more

Five Star So Far... 4/20/2007

I was surprised to read the other recent reviews. I have absolutely loved my experience with Dr. White and his staff! \r My previous Vet was always very condescending when I asked questions about my dogs health. She was very unresponsive and I always was left feeling like I didn't fully understand what was going on.\r \r When my dog recently became very ill, the stress of dealing with such an uncommunicative and negative Vet was unbearable. I did not feel that my dog was in the best of care so I decided to visit Dr. White. I had learned through a previous employee of his that he had taken over this practice and was told that he was great.I have been so pleased with my decision to change. \r \r Dr White is exceptional! I have found him to be extremely compassionate and goes to great lengths to thoroughly explain my pets condition. He's the best-est vet, ever!!! 4/20/2007

As a college student working a part time job, I've avoided vets for ever. For the most part, I take my cats to the humane society for their shots, spay/neutering and de-worming. The last time I visited a vet for the same problem I ended up with a $500 bill. I was dreading the visit. Surely I didn't go back to the same guy. The Dr. was amazing. The price was very reasonable. He didn't guilt me into expensive test, which the last guy did (apparently they weren't even necessary). He was friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. This is definitely the place I'll be taking my three cats from now on... Pros: parking, knowledgeable staff, great vet, reasonable prices., Cons: nothing. more
