Raymond Long, MD, a board-eligible orthopaedic surgeon, joined the Hughston Foundation in August as the 2016-2017 Hughston Trauma Fellow. Dr. Long graduated from Point Loma College in San Diego, CA, with a degree in biology and went on to complete his medical degree at University of Michigan. He did his residency in orthopaedic surgery as well as a fellowship in arthroscopy and arthroplasty at University of Montreal. At Florida Orthopedic Institute, Dr. Long completed fellowships in shoulder and elbow reconstruction and in sports medicine. Before coming to Hughston, he completed a second sports medicine fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. Additionally, he has done research on biomechanics and injury prevention in sports and is currently working on an anatomy textbook for yoga and Pilates enthusiasts. Currently, Dr. Long is working at Hughston Trauma in Jacksonville, FL.
