I hated the terrible and less than professional attitude by the hotel staff. They were very rude to us and took no responsibility and showed no compassion when our car was stolen ...

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/25/2014

DO NOT STAY HERE!! Made reservations the day before my husband checked in. Gave them my credit card to hold his room. Told them he would pay cash when he checked out a week later when he was done working. Was told that was no problem. As you always pay at the END of your stay. My husband went to check in today and the manger, Romey who doesn't hardly speak English told my husband he needed to charge him now for the entire stay!! My husband said nevermind then I don't want to stay here. Romey then told him he's going to charge his credit card anyways because it wasn't cancelled 24 hours prior!! So my husband left and I called and told him he can't do that, and you pay at the end of check out. Romey then screamed and swore at me, yes the general manager and told me to contact my beeping lawyer and hung up on me. I also have the phone conversation recorded so the corporate office is shocked and is going to call me back before I press contact my attorney. Don't know who he thinks he is but no one swears at me and hangs up on me especially not a general manager!! Not sure how they do things in his country but in America we hold a room on our card and pay at end of week. His manger needs to be fired and go back to where he came from. My husband said the hotel smelled anyways and was very old and outdated. Do yourself a favor, and keep on driving!! more

Very Unsafe and Very Unprofessional 6/11/2011

I hated the terrible and less than professional attitude by the hotel staff. They were very rude to us and took no responsibility and showed no compassion when our car was stolen from their parking lot. The people at the front desk are of Indian decent and upon observing their demeanor by sitting in the lobby for several hours I say without reservation that when an Indian customer came to the front desk they were all smiles. When a person of non-Indian decent showed up they were very rude. They were also very rude to customers on the phone. I realize that all Howard Johnson hotels are privately owned however Wyndam needs to seriously review the lack of proffesionalism by their hotel staff. Upon further visual inspection of the property there is no safety on the perimeter of the buiding. All of the exterior doors to the hotel either have no lock at all or can be easily opened by just pulling very hard. I guess since the staff have no vested interest in anything except getting a paycheck they really could care less about the comfort and more importantly safety of their guests. Stay here if you dare at your own risk. I hope our misfortune and sharing it here can help others to not have to go through what we went through. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!! \r \r more
