Totally worth it, stay here, it's good 7/12/2010

I really don't see why this has gotten so many bad reviews. The negatives: it is located in the strip club district next to a liquor store and it has no elevator. Everything else was more than adequate. There was no noise, it was steps away from Wal-mart, Best Buy, Target, K-mart and the stadium. There are many restaurants located near by, there's a bus stop out front, and it's like the cheapest hotel in the city. The room had a fridge (!), a microwave, hairdryer, coffee maker, all for $50 a night. I stayed here two nights, never once felt unsafe, made the short visit to the Florida Aquarium and downtown Tampa and then took a $10 cab to the airport. Oh yes, whatever these people were going on about a shuttle, that doesn't happen anymore. But really, for $50 a night I wouldn't expect them to have a shuttle. You can't beat this for the price. more

Not the Ritz but great for the price 7/12/2010

We stayed here prior to our cruise. Our guidlines "if it's got clean sheets and secure" it'll be fine. The hospitality was superb, close to stores, restaurants and it's just a quaint motel. Sure there's a stip joint across the 4 lane street and down the block but never noticed anything out of color. The room was clean and didn't smell. The A/C was adequate and the noise from it wasn't over bearing (like a window unit is). We'd stay here again without any hesitation. more

Good, clean budget motel 7/9/2010

I stayed here for two nights for the ACC championship game. Most of the hotel seemed to be fans in town for the game. Did not have any of the problems of some of the negative reviewers below. The night desk clerk was very responsive and even provided us with assistance when some other motel guests tried to steal a cab we had called. Housekeeping was on point. Everything is close by- lots of restaurants, Longhorn steakhouse practically on-site, even a couple "shoe shows" but the area was more commercial than slummy. Wal-Mart and Best Buy a block away and Raymond James Stadium was only a mile away. All in all I was very pleased with my stay for the price I paid. more
