At age 12-1/2, my black Lab Retriever Onyx had a "stroke" (attack of vestibular syndrome--google it) while I was hiking at the Salton Sea in December 2009. He was recommended to me by the staff at the Sony Bono Wildlife Refuge, and I took her there. I'm still not sure how I got her back to the car and into the car by myself. \r

Dr. Howard's staff was very compassionate and transported her into the facility, and he diagnosed her immediately. He treated her there for 3 days. She had improved tremendously by the second day and was walking nearly normally by the 3rd day. And his patented Perimet kept her healthy for over a year more.\r

IDr. Howard helped her with some last-ditch medication when she was nearly 14, but she stopped taking all meds, telling me she was ready to say goodbye, shortly thereafter.\r

I don't live nearby but I always stopped in to say hello with Onxy, and lately with my new dog Lucky, whenever I'm in the area. They are fantastic!
