The Houston Swing Dance Society has been around for over 6 years now and has led the way in keeping the joy of social swing dancing alive and well here in Houston. The organization has maintained its commitment to social dance excellence by hosting numerous workshops throughout the year and hosting weekly classes in many different styles of swing dancing. The classes are taught by instructors that love the Lindy Hop. The majority of them have won numerous awards from national dance competitions. The workshops are taught by internationally known. What a great time and what a great DEAL!!! I found HSDS online and thought it didn't hurt to try it out. We get to take lessons for $15.00 per month from fun instructors and then dance afterwards to great music. You can't get a better deal than that. I love this place! There are nice people, great national award wining instructors, and great music. they also have a national award wining dance troup: the hepcats, and they are so awsome. I don't think there is a better place to learn the lindy hop any where else in town!! more

I love this place, when I found HSDS and it was like I hit the jackpot....everything swing under one roof, all the swing dancing and information I could ever want at my fingertips i.e. weekly lessons, workshops locally and nationally, swing events all around town and all over the world. My only regret is that I didn't find it sooner, I kept saying ""I really want to do that, it looks so fun"" now it's an addiction. Houston Swing Dance Society is definitely the best place for swing in Houston. And the surrounding area, for that matter. I live in College Station and my friends and I are at the Melody Club every Sunday. It's a great way to learn to dance and meet people. There are all levels of dancers, everyone is friendly (so it's a non-threatening environment), and the lessons are great. And it's fun!! Everyone I have introduced to HSDS has become an addict. more
