If your looking for family fun that involves noise, fast cars, lots of people and (I desperately hope) a good set of ear plugs, then folks, you found it! Houston Raceway park is a huge complex devoted drag strip, 3/8 mile oval race, outlaw, Nationals, and the best ( in my humble opinion) is Friday night Street racing. Friday night street is where you can race your friends or race against the fastest times in the world on the quarter mile. Located in Baytown Tx ( why its called Houston Raceway still eludes me) its just a mile or two off I-10 down hwy 146. The prices range but usually are around $8.00 for spectators, kids 12 and under Free ( MUST HAVE ADULT WITH THEM) and for Friday nights Car and Driver is a crazy $15.00!
Parents, If you are going to bring the kids, Do not forget Ear Plugs, and if you forget, stop at any one the neighborhood stores on the way here to get some. Your Childrens ( and your) hearing is worth it and depends on it.
