I had not been in lately but went in the other day. Well, the flower selection was awful!!! The place was dirty, unorganized, screaming nasty people everywhere. They were not professional, didnt seem to now much about flowers and didnt seem to care about me and my requests. They have lost it. Too bad. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I was in a bind, needed flowers last minute and stopped in. Never seen House of Petals before and took a chance on them with a pretty decent sized order. The flowers I ordered were wonderful, and people are asking me where I got them from every day. The artwork is masterful, and the service was great. It was beyond what I expected. The space is amazing, as is the decor. But.... the designs leave something to be desired. I can see the attempt at high style modernism....but in my opinion the arrangements fall flat. The flowers don't seem to be fresh as they could be. (mine died the next day) but thats probably because the stems were outside the vase and the blooms were inside....HOW LONG do you expect that to last. They just don't seem to know their way around an arrangement. But that's just my opinion. Apparently by reading the other reviews (which is why i used this shop) Somebody likes them.....unless....the owners and employees wrote the reviews themselves. Saturday afternoon, my boss needed several small arrangements for a last minute High-Profile event that night. After being turned down by 6 florists (2 or who we are regular clients with), I spoke with Vince at House of Petals who agreed to create the arrangements and stayed open an hour late to accomodate us! They even offered me a coffee on their garden patio while they finished up! The flowers were fantastic, very eclectic and exactly what I requested. This level of customer service is refreshing. Great couture florist specializing in top-notch eye catching designs. Primarily used by A list celebs and the Hollywood business crowd, but accessible to the general public. I received a great arrangement from my agent at Christmas with Red Roses in a glass vase with orchids and cranberries in the case -- unbelievable. Everyone who saw it commented on the unique design. I stopped by the House of Petals a couple of weeks ago and was in awe when I saw the space. Not just a flower shop but a high end boutique with cool art and furniture for sale (I guess they are working on a coffee shop too). They were working on some arrangements for a private birthday party for Kate Moss at Memphis restaurant and another party for the 100th anniversary show of Bernie Mac. When I walked out, the owners were talking to Eddie Van Halen! Talk about celeb hang-out! Bottom line, I received the most awesome arrangement ever, very artsy, super fresh and unusual.
