Wow! What a terrifying little shack of a store! From the moment I walked in I was treated like total crap by some aging hipster behind the counter. He kind of looked like that kid...

Good deals on used gear, great amp servicing 3/1/2012

This is usually where I go to have my Fender HRD serviced. In fact, I use to take it here all the time whenever I wanted a retubing and biasing, until I learned how to do it myself. Never had a problem and the turnaround time is pretty quick (a couple of days in most cases). I also like to stop in from time to time just to see what kind of used stompboxes they get in. Sometimes you can find some boutique stuff at great prices. Oh, and I don't know what that Yoohoo person was talking about. Sounds like they have some personal issues and something against dwarf pirates (?). I've never had a problem here. more

Great guitar place! 6/17/2011

Shawn and Co. kick ass! I couldn't count the number of guitars I've bought here over the years on two hands. Being partly a pawn shop (but exclusive to music gear) there are always very cool guitars and other treasures to be had! They don't take in junk stuff-they know what's good! Being a Fender dealer is a nice addition too! Great set-ups and repairs. Great, friendly service! Thanks for being there! more

Awesome. 5/25/2011

We were just passing by and decided to run in for a moment - there's only one music store in my area in Wyoming. I love the selection of Fender equipment! I'm a Fender buff... and, on my way out, asked a ballpark figure on a Telecaster Thinline. They just happened to have one still in the box they hadn't put out yet! Glad I asked, because now I own it. Sweet guitar - nice service! more

Some of the best used gear in Salt Lake. Great service on guitars and amps. Been going there for over 10 years. No problems what so ever. more

Nice folks, great set-ups 1/6/2011

Great shop, highly recommended. I have had several set-ups done. They do them very fast and I must say pretty darn cheap. Also had my amp repaired there. more

Great hometown store! 12/30/2010

Just read the really sorry, hate filled review written by Yoohoo and had to respond. It is really sad that people like you post reviews like that. You are obviously a mean spirited person. The House of Guitars is a very delightful, very personable, very knowledgeable guitar store that has been here in Salt Lake for MANY MANY years. They are one of the last of the little guys and provide both sales and service for both guitars AND amplifiers and are authorized service center for most known brands in the industry. I shop at The House of Guitars AND the Guitarzar and they both are great little owner operated stores and Salt Lake is lucky to have them. Shame on you Yoohoo, we all know what you are! more

Stay away from ""Crack Shack Of Guitars""! 12/2/2010

Wow! What a terrifying little shack of a store! From the moment I walked in I was treated like total crap by some aging hipster behind the counter. He kind of looked like that kid you knew in high school. You know, that one kid with little man syndrome that went bald very early in life so he peirced his ears to make himself feel cool? But then he just looked like some sort of dwarf pirate so people picked on him anyway. Lowsy customer service all around. Which makes me wonder how the hell they stay in business treating customers that way? A shitty, shady, shotty, little crack shack that does'nt deserve your business. Stay far away from the dwarf pirate! I hope you work out those Daddy issues little dude. more
