House Call Vet Service is a mobile veterinary unit that provides health care services to your pet in your home. On June 18th or 19th we contacted them to set up an appointment to come to our home and treat our dog who is suffering from a re-occurring cough. They agreed to come out on the 24th between 3:00pm and 4:00pm. Earlier in the day on the 24th they called and asked if they could reschedule the appointment for the following week as they were already in our area the day before (which had we know we would have made ourselves available to them then). We explained that we were not comfortable waiting since the cough was getting worse so they agreed to keep the regularly scheduled appointment. At 2:15 on the 24th my husband received a call from them that they were in our driveway and nobody was home, he explained that I was on my way home from work and that I would be there by 2:30 which was early considering our appointment was for between 3:00 and 4:00 they replied that they were there now and they could not wait for me to show up and they left. My largest complaint is that they claim to be dedicated to the health and welfare of animals yet they allowed one to suffer not 10 feet away because they could not wait 15 minutes for me to get home. This along with the fact that I left work early costing me time and money to be there for an appointment that they set up and we confirmed not once but twice just to have them arrive early and refuse us service makes me wonder what kind of bed side manner my dog would have received from them. My goal is to get the word out to as many people as possible to avoid the use of these people if at all possible because based on there customer service skills it is apparent that they are not serving the best interest of your pet but rather themselves.
Pros: They come to you.
Cons: They come early and won't wait.
