Vienna dogs with everything on them - 3 stars - nothing to write home about. In fact too small for their $3 price. French fries were better than most. - 4 stars. However. The owner's angry berating foul mouth cursing of a person who sat at one of the three tables who had not yet purchased a hot dog really soured the experience. This was done as he yelled past me, over my shoulder while I am at the window to order - priceless. No amount of great food or great former reputation can make up for their inhospitable unbelievably terrible bungling of this situation. Turned out others in the shack new the guy. I've been the greatest cheerleader for Hot Dog Heaven for 12 years. No matter what out of towners wanted to see, I always take them to Hot Dog Heaven. NEVER AGAIN!! I am 61 years old, served in the army during Vietnam, worked 30 years as a firefighter/paramedic, helicopter flight medic, etc. Dealt with the worst of the dirtbags. Never in my life have I been so humiliated in public as I was on October 5th, 2011, as I was at the hands of the totally out of control, nasty hot dog cooker at Hot Dog Heaven. They have the best food around, but do not deserve to even stay in business for the way they treat their customers. Don't even consider going there because you could be next. I honestly thought he was going to come out and get violent with me. He just scared the crap out of me. And I've been a great customer for over 12 years! more

The food is Great! My wife loves the Dog's which are good, but my Favorite is the Chicago Beef & Sausage Combo with Peppers. They have great Fies too! We think it could only be improved by having indoor seating. more

Ok so I lived next door to this owner for a couple years. She is a racist, and I am white ok...but I saw her ordering the african american and hispanic/latino people that lived around us around like her personal slaves, and paid them but they all look miserable...Anyway, this woman fed pigeons all the time and when asked to stop she would start screaming at you and say some truely foul and offensive things...Then she started flipping me off and yelling bitch everytime she saw me just for asking her to quit feeding the birds. (She said she feels sorry for them and they might starve without her)LMAO! When I asked her how could she own a business in the community and expect people to patronize it when she is so rude, she said I don't need or want your f*($&#ng business...So, that all aside, when you walk into her new store located at Silverado and Maryland Pkwy, you might think it is decent but you will still get the same rude service you expect at the Lake Mead site...Just stay far away from this place...Those hotdogs might be made out of pigeons that she fattens up! Oh and her and her husband are always fighting in their apartment, and you can hear them it sounds like she has a gambling problem and does not pay her bills! And he is always lazy and needs to shower more often (GO SHOWER OLD MAN) LOL from what I heard more

I made an account today just to warn people about this place. If your African American, don't even bother coming here. Even if someone black is with you, don't bother. We have been turned down for service 3 times we came to visit. First time as we pulled up and walked towards the stand, we were told they close a quarter after 6:00pm, so we left, and went back a few days later, this time we get there and are told that its actually closed, they are just cleaning, and when asked why the open sign was on, all we received was an ""oops"", and the light was turned off. The third and final time, we get there around 5:10pm, there is another Caucasian gentlemen in line getting served, so we get in-line behind him, as we get to the counter, the owner turns the open sign off and says ""Sorry, that's the last customer we are serving today."" Outraged we demand he serve us our food and all he says is that they close at 6PM. I show him that its only 5:20PM, he just says back, ""Sorry we aren't serving any more people today."" People like this make me sick. I'm already in the process of contacting the BBB & mailing our mayor. As far as I knew, it was illegal to not serve someone due to race. If you have had a bad experience I also recommending letting your voice be heard. Cons: Don't eat here. Period. more

My daughter & I were in LV for a convention. While sightseeing we came across HOT DOG HEAVEN. We couldn't not stop. The hot dog & fries were from heaven. I looked them up on the web. I read the complaints. Looks like I missed all the fun but the dogs were great. Pros: Great Hot Dog! Cons: It's a long way from my home in Portland. more

The food here is great and so are the guys who work here. Verbal abuse is all part of the Hot Dog Heaven experience! If you don't like to be verbally abused then you need to be smart enough to know what you want when you get to the window and you need to pay with small bills. Also, don't ask for ketchup. Stopped at this 'local' hot dog stand in Oct, 2009 and as the last poster stated, we were also verbally assulted by the owner (?) when placing our order. We simply asked him how he was doing and he went into a tirade about the economy, politics, socalism, the 'black' president and ended by blaming 'people like us' for all his woes? As we had already paid for the food, we accepted it but only took one bite of the lousy chili dog and greasy fries before throwing it in the garbage. I then had a few choice words for him as we left and threw a penny in his tip cup and said that was more than the food was worth. STAY AWAY, far far away, from this place and this lunatic! My husband, daughter and I stopped by for lunch on a recent Saturday. I placed an order for 3 hot dogs and fries (nothing special). Since it was pretty crowded, I figured we'd have to wait a few minutes. 25 minutes later (after folks who ordered after us got their food), my husband said to the guy at the counter ""we ordered awhile ago and were wondering if you know how much longer it'll be."" The guy says, ""It takes as long as it takes. You probably have a special order and now you're going to have to go to the end of the line because you asked."" I thought he was just joking, but when we tried to explain that we hadn't ordered anything special, he started shouting at us that we had to wait. So we waited another 7-8 minutes and saw more people who ordered after us get their food. When we asked again, the guy starts looking for our order and then looks at us and says, ""I don't have your order."" He said it three times and kept looking at us like we were lying about having placed an order. He had our receipt in his hand, with the date and time on it! Still trying to be polite, my husband said, ""Well, how much longer will it be?"" The guy starts yelling at my husband and calling him a ""wise guy"" and telling him that he wasn't going to serve us and we needed to ""get lost."" My husband is a really mellow guy (1st time in 20 years of marriage I?ve seen him lose his temper), but he started shouting at the guy because he wouldn?t listen to us. I finally stepped in and asked for our money back (shorted us 41 cents) and got the heck out of there. I really hope this guy wasn't the owner, but I have a sneaking suspicion he is. Scary. more

This was a horrible experience for me and my co-worker. We placed the order for pick up. When I picked up the order it was wrong. I was expecting something wonderful to tickle my tastebuds, however, it was the total opposite. I was just a plain old farmer john's hot dog, the chilli was tasteless, the bread was soggy. After paying for my order, my change was dropped on the counter. From a scale of 1-10, I rate this dump a ""-1"", and that's no lie. I was thoroghly disappointed and so was my co-worker, she took one bite and threw it in the trash....Yuk! Pros: They have a good comodity Cons: Food, Location, Service...etc, etc. more

I have heard Celine Dion even eats here! The Chicago dog rocks and the chili cheese fries are meant to share they are huge and yummy! Sometimes there can be a line as they are known for a great chicago dog but it's worth it! Pros: very tasty Cons: not a lot of parking more
