Had a tour today and loved it! 5/30/2009

I had a tour today. I was welcomed with open arms, given a tour and offered a free class to try before signing up. I was offered a membership with the initiation fee waived and only pay the first month. Can't wait to try this studio! Pros: Friendly staff, beautiful enviroment and lots of classes Cons: none more

Recharge and Relax 5/11/2009

I was very impressed by the instructors at this studio compared with many of the other studios I have been in the Los Angeles area. They take the time to make sure you know the proper technique before they fly through motions for mere exercise. The studio is beautiful and its nice to go early to relax and drink some of the fabulous tea that is provided to you. Pros: New, Beautiful Studio and Knowledgeable Instructors Cons: More Expensive than Gym Membership more

Yoga for Life 11/10/2008

Practicing yoga here is worth every minute and every penny invested. There is no better return on well being than than invested in the self. Take it from someone who left working in the stock market because stress made her (and those around her) incredibly sick. Pros: brand new facility more

Bad business practices 9/26/2008

I don't have anything negative to say about the studio or the classes. The studio is a nice place to practice yoga, and almost all of the teachers are excellent. The problem is that this is an entirely different type of yoga studio from what I'm used to. The small yoga studios that you find near the beach have a positive, laid-back feeling. You don't have to sign any contracts or give them your bank account number or anything like that. At most of these places you can pay as you go. On the other hand, YogaWorks is $150 per month whether you go or not, and when you sign up you have to give them your first and last month's dues. Also, you can't just cancel any time you want to. If it's later than the 15th of the month, you owe them for the next month, and they also keep your last month's dues. This is explained in fine print somewhere in the contract, but they never actually tell you this, and unless you read it carefully you would never know. All things considered, it just has a very corporate vibe that is the antithesis of what yoga is supposed to be about. So my advice: stay away unless you are a hardcore yoga practitioner, and if you do decide to sign up, know at least two months in advance when you plan to cancel your membership.\r \r (By the way, I think what they're doing is actually illegal. 24 Hour Fitness was sued a couple of years ago over their unethical cancellation policy. They were ordered to settle with their former members for millions of dollars. So just because you put something in fine print on a contract doesn't necessarily make it legal!) Pros: Plenty of free parking, nice sunny studios, good teachers Cons: No lockers, bad value, often too crowded more

BEAUTIFUL FACILITY! 9/26/2008

Beautiful facility - brand new, extremely clean, open and inviting. The teachers are excellent and seem to owe their styles to a blend of the Astanga and Iyengar disciplines. Yogawords appears to take the practice of yoga very seriously, faithful to the traditional discipline, however they are open to the needs and demands of yoga enthusiasts including prenatal and therapeutic type classes. 2 studios available - which is awesome! Take a moment and make a visit -- it is a wonderful treat and there is always hot tea and filtered water available to make you feel at home. Pros: Clean inviting space, wonderful teachers, hard core yoga Cons: Couldn't find any cons more

Can't wait for studio to open 2/6/2008

Really nice staff. Paid founder's membership. Very good deal for this area. I can't wait for the studio to open! Looks like it is going to be nice and eco-friendly inside. \r \r Pros: nice staff Cons: dont know yet more
