I rented a 3 br 3 ba apartment for three months in 2013. I would say that the grounds are nice, the pool was fairly well kept as well as the gym. The tennis courts looked tired, but that's not a big deal.\r

The main issue I had was with the incompetent staff in the resident services office. They were terrible at communicating when things were due and they also would bill me incorrectly for my rent. My 2nd month there, they over billed me for my rent. After I paid the amount on my lease, I came home to an eviction notice. I walked to their office to correct this, which they eventually did. The next month, a similar thing happened because they had added a late fee to my account so my payment was short a few hundred dollars. Again, I had to walk down there and spend time to correct this error. Each instance took multiple phone calls and emails to correct.\r

After moving out, they not only kept my security deposit, but sent me a bill for replacing the carpet. I asked for information on this and they sent me photos of rug stains along with a move-in document they had me sign a week and a half before I even saw the apartment (I moved from out of state) stating that the apartment was in perfect condition. Since I never went to them to complain about the apartments condition after moving in, they simply replaced what they wanted after I moved out and billed me for the full amount threatening they would send it to collection if I didn't pay it. \r

If this is their policy, they should show you your new apartment on move in day, walk through it with you and have you sign an agreement stating the condition of the apartment so that everyone is on the same page. I have not way of proving the condition of the apartment when I moved it now so it's their word against mine. I'm just glad they are trying to replace the kitchen cabinets that were falling apart on my dime!\r

I'd say ""buyer beware"" if you're moving in. Don't expect them to be on your side and check everything you sign thoroughly!
