I've had my pet for less than a month and after taking her to this vet it nearly killed her. Initially she was fine, a normal playful and happy puppy, but after one of their vaccines she became sick with a 105 fever and pain. We took her back within a few days of these symptoms and he advise that we should spend $500 for JUST TESTS. He gave her pain pills and antibiotics WHICH DIDNT HELP (waste of $69). We returned a few days later with the same issue and all he kept advising was spend more and more money. Never contacting the vaccine company or double checking his work. After countless voicemails and begging I spent $240 on just blood work and a tick test which shown that my puppy had an high WBC so he prescribe more pain pills and antibiotics WHICH STILL DIDNT HELP. At this point he was advising us TO KILL HER or give her to someone who could afford her so UNPROFESSIONAL. I even have a save voicemail from his rep who said " Honey, the doc. advice that you give the dog back to the place you got her from because you cant afford our service or if not kill her" WHAT vet. gives up when he havent done research or went out his way. Finally we went to another vet. who was nice enough to contact the vaccine company who gave us a grant to find out if it was the vaccine that got her sick or something else. Taking time out of her busy day to do research on the type of vaccine given and ask for an second opinion. Oakwood did nothing but waste my time and put in danger my dogs health. To truly care about animals a vet has to go out there way to ensure the well-being of the animal instead this money hungry poor excuse of vet made unprofessional comments and worried more about his pocket. Read the reviews on this place!!! I could understand if it was one bitter customer saying the same thing but its several people saying the same thing THIS VET IS MONEY HUNGRY. Dont be fool by the employee's healthy dogs walking around they dont care about YOUR dog just their own. AVOID AT ALL COST THERE ARE TO MANY GOOD VETS IN TOWN!!!
