If there was an option for extremely poor under Service that is what would be selected... If you read nothing else under this review please read this, DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!
First I must say that I typically would never write a review, good or bad. This just isn't normal practice for me. But the service and quality I have received from this dealership over the last year makes the time it will take to write the review worth it even if it will only stop one more person from purchasing a vehicle from this dealership.
My first encounter with Fayetteville Auto Park was 14 months ago and was with the Used Car division. I went in looking for an SUV. My husband and I met a very nice gentleman that seemed to be honest. We purchased a 2007 Certified Pre Owned Acura MDX with 77K miles. We were offered a warranty for an additional 100K miles, we were told that this warranty was like purchasing a new car.... About 5 months after purchasing the car I began to hear a noise, I immediately made an appointment to have it looked at with the Acura Lot. I told the gentleman Arthur Williams that I was hearing a noise and it sounded like a belt. I took the car in to have it serviced. I was told nothing was wrong with the vehicle but the brakes needed to be replaced, I had them replace the brakes (which was WAY over priced) & I took the car back assuming that they actually looked at it, and were being honest about the weird noise I was hearing.
Over the next few months the noise started to get worse. One morning my husband went to back my car out of the garage, when he did he heard a pop and the check transmission light came on. We immediately made an appt first thing to have Acura look at it. I took it in on a Monday, at drop off I told Arthur that in addition to the transmission light that I was still hearing the noise and it was only getting worse, I asked if he would look at it again. He said he would and asked if he could keep it over night, of course I agreed. At this point the car had 105K miles on it. We received a call on Wednesday stating that the transmission light was just a tripped sensor. He explained that the noise I had been hearing was my timing belt, tensioner and water pump and gave me an estimate of $1100 dollars. We questioned the warranty, he stated that he believed warranty only covered up to 100K miles not an additional but would have to check with his finance guy and let us know. From here it spirals down hill... Friday he called and stated that the finance guy did confirm it was only up to 100K miles. ARE YOU KIDDING? First I purchase a CERTIFIED PREOWNED, Second your telling me the extended warranty you sold me is not VALID? Third I brought this in several months prior when it had less than 100K miles and you tell me nothing is wrong?-- Now I am FURIOUS!
We explained to him that when we were sold the warranty we were told it was like buying a new car, otherwise we would NEVER had bought the warranty. I also told him that I found it a little fishy that I had brought the vehicle in a few months prior (when it was under 100K) and was told nothing was wrong. Now that not only is the extended warranty I thought I was purchasing not valid but now you are also telling me that this noise I have been hearing for 7 months now all of sudden you can find the issue when its not covered by the manufactures warranty. He ends up keeping the car over the weekend to talk to his "manager" to see what could be done. He comes back with most labor charges dropped and our new price being $465 dollars for the repairs. We weren't happy still but agreed because we didn't want to risk the car being damaged any further. And the estimates we received from other mechanics were close to 500$.
My husband goes to pick up the car and the total only comes up to $240 dollars, so that sounds like a great deal right??? Or just another shady way for them to get more money in the long run... You guessed right its #2. They decided that the "water pump" that was bad, magically, was no longer bad & since it was not leaking they didn't need to replace it. At this point we knew that we would no longer do business with this dealership. They are only out for any penny they can get!
A few weeks passed and somethings happened within my family. My husband and I decided it would be best for us to look at getting a Mini Van and I really like the Honda Odyssey's. We decided to drive through Fayetteville Auto Park ( IKR) but it was just to see what they had. Of course my husband gets out and is immediately swarmed with flies aka salesmen. He explains what we are looking for, tell the guy what we planned on trading in and how much we owe. My husband and Spencer exchange several phone calls, & emails over the next few days. Spencer tells my husband that he has an odyssey for 35 listed but that he could get us in it for 31K, he also explained that he could probably get him in a 2013 Honda Odyssey for a few hundred dollars more vs the 2012. My husband tries to negotiate over the phone but Spencer insist that he come in to cut a deal. My husband went in and it ended up being a total waste of time. 1st the paperwork they give him on the 2012 Odyssey listed the 35K retail not the 31K he stated over the phone. Also, knowing we owed 20K on the Acura he offered us 13K which is the lowest KBB value. They have been nothing but a head ache to deal with. I would strongly suggest you purchasing from a different dealership. Do not waste your time or money with this place...
