One Of The Really Nice Upscale Restaurants in Homer 7/25/2006

The Homestead is on par with Cups and Lands End. It's a comfortable, spacious place about eight miles out on East End Road. The owners are delightful and make you feel at home. It's always moderately busy, so reservations are suggested, although they have a nice bar and plenty of walk in space during the week. The food is excellent and changes regularly, although there are a few mainstay dishes. The views are spectacular - try to get a seat facing out over Kachemak Bay. more

Excellent, high end (for AK) restaurant in Homer 7/13/2005

The Homestead is one of the few "fancy" restaurants in Homer (although fancy still means jeans and t-shirts.) They have a great, complex menu with a variety of dishes. All the food is super, especially anything that's fresh or local seafood. The atmosphere is nice - casual and friendly, but generally upscale feeling. The service is very good, although the pacing ebbs and flows with how busy they are. If you are in Homer and looking for a relaxing "non-touristy" meal, this is the place for you. more
