Love the Discounts 5/12/2006

What I love about Home Goods is that it's like a Marshalls or a TJ Maxx, but it's all home stuff! They do have some food type items, but I guess that's a home item, too. Very big selection of shower curtains, towels, linens, small furniture items, frames, decorative knick knacks, and all kinds of similar things. The quality of things like the bath accessories is much better than Target or Wal Mart, but at similar prices. They also have an excellent selection of rugs (good quality). They might be owned by the TJX, I'm not sure (but stuff is set up similarly with similar price tags). They have some great clearance stuff on occasion, too. You will find unique type items here -- like maybe they buy overstock from someplace? Bargains and fun to be had, and a great place to find gifts. more

Home Goods 4/2/2006

What differentiates Home Goods from the other bath and linens stores is their unique one-of-a-kind products. Although there will always be a great selection of towels, beddings, and pillows, you never know what will turn up in the way of pots, pans, small appliances and gift items. There's always an excellent assortment of holiday-themed decorations and dinnerware for just about every season and holiday--dinner sets featuring pumkins, platters with stars-and-stripes for the 4th of July, etc. You'll also find basic utensils, such as cutlery, graters, mixing spoons, and potholder/kitchen towel sets there everyday. But look for the specials. Some months, there will be a new shipment of teakettles. One month, there were even small, traditional cast-iron Japanese tea sets! There are new arrivals of accent-piece furnishings, such as shelving units, accent chairs and ottomans, but if you see something you like, buy it now, because there's no guarantee you'll see it there again. One month, there were 6' stuffed "giraffes" made from multicolored leather. Another time, there was a suit of armor, perfect for a Tudor country-house foyer. And if you need a hostess gift, there's always a delicious array of gourmet teas, coffee, cocoa, chocolates and tins of candy, plus beautiful china tea-cups, which you could assemble into a hostess-basket, adding one of the tea towels and small baskets which are usually available in the store. This is always an exciting shopping experience, like an exotic bazaar brought to suburbia. more

Homegood store 4/1/2006

Homegoods is a hit or miss store in my experience. I am always pleasantly surprised when I find something in there at a good price. I leave the store empty handed as often as I do find a good bargain. This store has a pretty good selection and is pretty large. There is a ton of parking. Customer service was great. Aisles were clean. They have a lot of furniture and purses and clothes. I have looked for kitchenware here and did not find anything but I did find a briefcase/portfolio. more
