George and Sandy Smith brought Home Instead Senior Care to the Tri-Cities in March of 1999 with a passion in their hearts to help other families. After caring for her ailing mother with Alzheimer's, Sandy realized there was a great need for senior care in the area. She discovered the opportunity in a women's magazine while waiting at a doctor's office. After researching the ins and outs of becoming a franchise owner, history in non-medical home care was made in the Tri-Cities with the start of a new service for families and their aging loved ones. George and Sandy were able to build the local franchise from the ground up and lend aid and confidence to families in the area by being personable, showing care and campassion and through Sandy's background as a registered nurse. After opening their first franchise, the Smiths brought Sandy's son, Rick Regen, in as an owner. They began their business with a small office in Grey, Tennessee and in time, moved to Blountville, Tennessee and then began expanding to different areas in Southwestern Virginia and Northeastern Tennessee. Home Instead Senior Care now has established offices in Johnson City, Greeneville and Kingsport in Tennessee and Bristol, Virginia. We are pleased to offer services and employment to the surrounding areas of these locations. In 2020, George and Sandy passed the torch of ownership to George's daughter, Erica Newman. She is now the owner of the Bristol and Kingsport locations. As a locally owned business, we offer friendly, responsive service right in your neighborhood. We're dedicated to making our community a better place to live for seniors and their families.
