Editorial review from Citysearch 3/16/2014

Hopefully this posts to save honest shoppers their time. Click on savyshopper2 below and you'll see that they somehow managed to shop at and review 2 different Home Decor locations that are over 700 miles apart.\r \r The company is either directly lying to you in an unintelligent fashion or paid an inept company to write fictional reviews to them. T\r \r To think that I almost recommended this place to my mother who lives in that area more

What are they Talking about 8/22/2011

I have no idea what these other people are talking about. I went in to the Home Decor location on Commerce lane on 8-20 and was extremely impressed. I was greeted by an associate right when I walked in the door and was pleasantly surprised by the service I was given. Most retail establishments that I shop at want nothing more than a sale and money in their pocket. This was the exact opposite of how I felt at Home Decor Liquidators. I do not know if these salespeople are paid on commission or not but I certaintly did not feel pressured into a purchase. The salesperson (Mike) listened to all of my wants and needs and asked multiple questions to make sure that I would be satisfied with the beautiful living room set that I purchased. Now that I have the set at home and am very happy with the product and service that I received I went online to see what others had said about this company. What I read blew my mind. I do not know if this was done by a competitor or if someone really received this service from this company. If it was true than I am certain that this was with other associates than the ones that I dealt with. If I would have read these before I went to the store than I would have been hesitant to shop there. I am very pleased that I went to the store before looking online. To all consumers in the ST. Louis area that need furniture go to Home Decor, you will not be let down. I am obviously very satisfied with this company and this is not something that happens often. Very pleased more

BUYER BEWARE 2/8/2010

I went to this store to purchase a couch/love seat combo. I asked before purchasing if the furniture was in stock and was told that everything on the showroom floor was in stock and available for immediate pick up or delivery. I paid for my set and my husband went back the next night with a trailer to pick up the items. After the couch was loaded into the trailer the guy on the loading dock told my husband that they could ""not find"" our loveseat. After much confusion they stated that they do not have the loveseat in stock anymore and they would not give us the floor model but we could have one that didn't match. We stated that we wanted our money back and they agreed. Now, FIVE DAYS later the money is still not back in my checking account. The whole point was that we needed this furniture immediately now we are still waiting on our refund. I agree with the previous review, they are trying to bait and switch thinking that people will fall for their scams. BUYER BEWARE! \r \r P.S. I got a couch, chair, entertainment center and pub table with four chairs at Weekends Only for the same price that I was going to pay these clowns for only a couch and loveseat! Home Decor Liquidators is a Tricky, Sneaky, Shady and Unreliable Store. Pros: Cheap Cons: Shady more

BAIT & SWITCH - BUYER BEWARE! AVOID! 7/22/2009

BAIT & SWITCH -- BUYERS BEWARE!! I too would never shop here again. I chose and paid for a mattress on a Sunday, and arranged to pick it up two days later, renting a UHaul truck to do so. When I picked up, the warehouse guy loaded the box spring in the truck, and then took 6-7 minutes to ""find"" my mattress. After the long wait, he put it in the truck and quickly pulled down the door. It was only after I picked something else up nearby did I notice they gave me the wrong mattress! I returned to the store, where the sales lady said that sometimes when the manufacturer is ""out of thread"", they have to stitch a different design into the pillowtop (WHAT????), and she assured me that it was the same mattress. I pressed her, and told her that I did not want the mattress in the truck, to remove it, and to get me the mattress that I had picked out. That is when they told me they no longer (or NEVER) had it in stock. Perturbed but looking at having to re-shop and re-rent a truck to pick up, I told her that the ""switch"" was unacceptable, and I either wanted my money back or another mattress of equal or greater value. That's when the manager asked what was going on, and I allowed him to look at the mattress in the truck. He came back to tell me that that mattress was indeed a better mattress than I had chosen, and worth $500 and some dollars (despite the price tag on it that said $342!!) I told him that, better mattress and all, it was not the one I had chosen, but I was willing to look at an ""older"" model of the one I had purchased as an option for the replacement (i had actually liked this one a little better when I was shopping for it, but he steered me toward the ""newer"" model). He ended up giving me a discount on the mattress, needless to say, but upon loading it up in the truck, the warehouse guy admitted to me that the manager was the one who told him to give me the wrong mattress, unbeknownst to me! Overall, I ended up not trusting anyone there, and would never recommend shopping there. If I were not moving in a week, and had not spent the money to rent a truck for the multiple pick-ups I was doing, I would have demanded my money back and walked out. I am happy with the mattress I received, but the trouble and dishonesty was definitely not worth the money saved. Did they really think that I was stupid enough not to notice that they had given me a different mattress? Apparently! They will surely insult your intelligence too, so I would NEVER shop there, because the minimal cost savings to you is definitely not worth the hassle. Pros: reasonable prices Cons: baith/switch, untrustworthy salespeople, insulting service, more
