I have been attending this church for 29 years. I've been a member for 17. I would have recommened this church to quite a few people. But lately I wouldn't suggest it. It's not the church itself it's the old cronies in the church. If we could only get members who are about living the Godly life and who care about the church and stop acting acting like children maybe it'll be a better place. 'I want to run the church,' No I should run this church' nya nya nya. I want this church to go back to the way it was when my parents were children. When Rev. Crayton was paster, I was told that there were activities for the children. Softball, volleyball, chearleaders. What ever happened to that?? They always talk about children should get off the streets. Well do something about it! I was asked by my Sunday school teacher what would I suggest the church should do to bring my age group back into the church. I said we need something to entertain us. Something that would keep my age group interested. Another member took it the wrong way. She said 'we are not here for entertainment. We are here to learn about God.' Grant it I know that, but I'm not talking about that kind of entertainment. If you want to draw my age group and other age groups back to the church, you have to do SOMETHING that would make them want to come. Sitting around just talking about how they should get off the street isn't doing so well now is it?? I would like to start a choir. Bring back the Enspirational Honsomble. (not quite sure how to spell it) Instead of singing those old, slow, traditional songs. We should do something more up beat. A faster tempo. The choir's age group will be from 16 to 35. If you should be reading this and you'd like to sing come on down to the church. If we could make a change maybe those old cronies would get a grip.
Cons: The older generation thinking they can tell the paster what to do.
