Love this place! Excellent customer service, and extremely friendly staff. Personally, I've been looking to lose a few pounds and get into better shape, and the employees are very motivating, supportive, and non-judgemental. I highly recommend joining hollywood fitness for those looking for an easy-going friendly gym. more

I wanted a low cost gym without the hassle. Hollywood Fitness was just that. Low down to get started, great staff, not crowded, locally owned. The place is HUGE! Looks small from the street, but they have everything. Open 24 hours and I really appreciated the neighborhood feel without the meat market thing. I love this place and it's a joy to go the gym....finally! more

If you are looking for a great local alternative to the big box gyms then look no further! I have been a member for years at Hollywood Fitness and it just keeps on getting better. They just added Group Fitness on Demand! That means that you can get a class 24 hours a day on a ginormous 10 foot screen. (And instuctors for many more too, including Zumba). I love the atmosphere, casual, cool vibe. Not a meat market, or meat heads. Really a portland neighborhood in the best sense. And oh yeah, they're open 24 hours a day and I work nights, so Jeff is here til like midnight and they have a staff here for graveyard for cleaning. I appreciate a clean gym and they take it very seriously. Free workout towels, plenty of parking, and I swear the biggest weight room you have ever seen! I know I'm rambling, but after being at other places, I love Hollywood Fitness (used to be Giants Gym). Okay, one more thing, Activtrax. How about a program that customizes a workout, drops it on your smart phone, and changes it every time you come in?? Yeah, I love it too. more

The owner has added more cardio, expanded and now has classes, the Active Trak system is better, towels, and the employees are trained, care, and seem to always be cleaning or helping someone. It really makes you want to support your local gym when they earn it and give you more than you expect. thanks giants gym! more

No Meat Market or High Pressure 10/7/2010

I moved here a few months ago and was looking for a personal trainer. I used to have a great one that motivated me, but my budget is tighter here in Portland. Giants gym allowed me to have a membership, get training twice a week (with David, he's awesome), and still save money! It has everything I need, is close, open all of the time, and friendly. more

Great Members, Staff, and Atmosphere! 10/1/2010

I just read that last ""review""and know that was from an ex employee...who doesn't get the philosophy behind Giants Gym. Give great service, respect every member, help inspire and teach, and go beyond expectations. I have been a member for 12 years and have watched the gym grow, adding equipment, programs, and when the owner takes time to know your name, send a card when you are sick, or even help out when I had financail problems, Just try to get that somewhere else! more

Affordable and Friendly! 6/18/2010

I joined this gym originally because it was close to me, but now I want to share my experience. First, it's affordable and I didn't get the high pressure sales treatment. The owner spent time to work out a program that would fit my schedule and needs. Second, the whole staff is helpful without being overbearing. Third, NOT crowded or a meat market. I am still blown away at how comfortable I feel, for the first time in a gym. And last, I lost 40 pounds!! Thank you to all of you at Giants Gym! Pros: Clean, NO high pressure, and helpful more

I was so frustrated with the big clubs that I had almost given up. The staff at Giants Gym sat down with me and reviewed my fitness history and goals before I joined. Then they tested me, and put me on the Activ Trax system. It is so easy! Every time I go to the gym a new workout is waiting for me. Good People, Relaxed Environment 5/27/2009

I've been a member for two years and enjoy my work outs immensely. George and the rest of the staff are incredibly pleasant and enjoyable to work with, which reflects on the members, making it friendly environment for everyone. I recently decided to purchase some time with one of the staff trainers, Steve, and after a few weeks I can really feel the difference. Besides the workout regiment, the knowledge I've gleaned from him in body shaping as well as general wellness have been extremely valuable.
