Best in Cambridge 9/27/2005

This video store is a welcome alternative to the chain video stores. This store is especially strong in foreign and indie movie selection. They have specials during the week and are within easy walking distance of many student communities. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about movies. Don't forget to check out the specials in conjunction with the Brattle Theater. more

Best Video Store in Town, Hands-Down 8/18/2005

Amazing selection of foreign and independent films, as well as good selection of new releases. This place was my film school, along with the Harvard Film Archive. Knowledgeable staff -- little future Tarantino's. Cool atmosphere. This place provides a community of cinephiles that is real-time and un-net-flixed. Browse to your heart's content. A truly wonderful place. They have two branches and will get movies for you from one to give it to you. Can return to either. Specials -- five movies for ten dollars (may be a little more), stuff like that. new releases more. High recommend. more

Movies Galore 8/15/2005

This is a great alternative to the chains such as blockbuster. They have a great collection of indie movies and have a two movies for the price of one special on Tuesdays. The best deal is to buy a booklet of passes which will give you a discounted price for rentals. If they don’t have the movie, which it’s unlikely will happen, they will order it for you and it will be in their store within four days. more
