Yvonne M.\r I had lasik surgery from Dr. Hollis 6 or 7 years ago when he offered his services for Uniroyal family and friends, which was a huge blessing!! His fee was very reasonable at $750 for the total cost and I couldn't have gotten it done anywhere for that price! My brothers were employees of Uniroyal and one of my brothers and I had the surgery together. We were very pleased!! I went back this year for an enhancement and am pleased once again. I'd like to say thanks to Dr. Hollis for my clear vision!!! more

I HAD THE PROCEDURE DONE IN AUG OF 2011. MY VISION HAS GOTTEN WORSE EVERY DAY SINCE. I CALL ED THEM IN JUNE 2013 AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS ONLY GOOD FOR ONE YR. THAT BECAUSE I WAS OVER 40 IT WAS TO BE EXPECTED. I WAS OVER 40 WHEN IT WAS DONE, THE DR TOLD ME AT LEAST FOR 10 YRS I WOULDNT NEED VISUAL ASSISTANCE AND PROB NEVER. THE WANT TO CHARGE ME FOR THE ENTIRE PROCEDURE ALL OVER AGAIN. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE TO ME, AND I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.... more

If you were thinking about going to this man to have surgery think again. I am now facing corneal transplants because of his botched RK. He is knife happy. I went to him thinking that he knew what he was doing. Boy was I wrong. I would not take my worst enemy to him. QUACK more

Terrible service 4/17/2012

I made an appointment with Hollis Lasik. I have 5 children and live 2 hours away and so had to make several preparations, hotel room, etc, and 2 days before my appointment, the office called and cancelled my appointment because they said they hadn't scheduled many patients for that day and didn't want to come in just for us. Worst customer service ever. Very disappointed. more

Perfect vision!! 12/1/2011

I am a college student and decided to have lasik eye surgery done so that late at night when studying when my eyes dried out I wouldn't need to take my contacts out and put glasses on. I did A LOT of research before deciding to go see Dr. Hollis. When I first walked in the immediate staff at the front desk was very friendly and had me fill out some paper work. Once done with the paper work they took me back to check my eyes and make sure my cornea was thick enough to even have lasik surgery. After my eyes looked good I met with Dr. Hollis who then looked at my eyes again and talked with me about any concerns I had in regard to the surgery. He was a very genuine and down to earth type of guy. He told me all about his accident and the problems that had occurred while he was out of work because of his accident and mind you he has this posted on his website so that everyone can see it for themselves. Afterwards I went back out to the waiting room and then they called me back and the gentleman that took care of me in the back was also very nice and kept me calm ( I was very nervous) while waiting for Dr. Hollis to come in. The procedure itself literally took like 5 minutes or less per eye. As soon as I sat up I could immediately see a difference even though my vision was still a little bit blurry. I came in the next morning and my eyes were still a little blurry but he said it was normal because my cornea was swollen and could be that was for a few days. After about 3 days after the surgery the blurry vision was gone and I could see perfectly. The hardest part after the surgery was to not rub my eyes. I went back for a 1 month recheck and everything was good and my vision is now 20/13 and I am so ecstatic!! The other reviews I have read do no justice for Dr. Hollis, he is fantastic doctor and I recommend him to anyone I know. My friend works at walgreens pharmacy and also had it done and says he hears great things from customers all the time about Dr. Hollis. I would go in and meet with Dr. Hollis yourself ( my consultation was free) and make the judgement for yourself. Thanks again Dr. Hollis and staff, you guys are great!!! more

shocking repercussions with Hollis Lasik 11/6/2011

Do your homework! check out all prof's in this industry whether in the immed. area or not. It will pay off! I heard local good reviews on Hollis Lasik of Auburn and they ran a special that coincided with my birthday in Oct. I took them up on the offer for $500 per eye, since eyeglasses gave me migraines on the spot the earpieces strike the head behind the ear. that is the main reason plus 4-eyes are SO unattractive. I did have some dry eye and made sure i told Hollis about this beforehand. The day of surgery the pain was excrutiating and i called back to report this and was later told i never complained about pain. Something the dr. put in my eyes during procedure caused a horrific allergic reaction and both eyes were out of commission for over a week longer than all other typical patients. By week three, my blood pressure out the roof from pain and stress over severe eye pain, blurred vision, swelling of the eyeball and so tender to the touch i couldnt wash, i had to have the 'flap' re-lifted and eyeball scraped and debris dug out Hollis said was left under the 'flap' in the first surgery. The rt. eye had to undergo post-op pain ALL OVER AGAIN...from the cutting of the cornea. Nver in my life had anything hurt so bad for SO long. I have used drops until I am 'drop'ping out of life. I have canceled important events like my autistic son's AU piano recital, his flag football games, just dropping him off and going back home to sit in the dark with my sunglasses on.\r The worst part was not even dealing with the pain and suffering so much as having to deal with the rudest of front desk staff that i have EVER encountered being a suffering patient. I have owned and run speciality skin clinics from Santa Barbara, CA to Destin, FL, and patient relations from the desk to the chair WAS NUMBER ONE. I have been told to shut up, told to be quiet, that I am the problem when I 'report' for 'duty' at my NUMEROUS office visits to try to get some relief and help. How could ANY person treat a person hurting in such pain with such disrespect? Well, Ann and Beth did. They refused to tell their names when asked and spoke rudely in person and on the phone. When asked when I could expect a call back from the dr. when i had been hurting for THREE relentless weeks, Ann said: ""LOOK, I just take the messages and pass them along when he returns them is up to him"". I called her attention to her beligerence and it has done absolutely NO good. She and her cohort, Beth, who told me flatly, she was a genius in the business and knew everything, both would be fired in a instant had this happened in my business. \r All in all, i have to say, I have been taken advantage of by Hollis Lasik in general and scolded for it like a stepchild. i am considering legal action, as these are my eyes we are talking here, and you ONLY GET ONE SET, Dr. Hollis.\r Megan Charles more

Dr HOLLIS,my wife's nightmare. 10/17/2011

My name is mike L. polachek and I Happened to notice the tv channel 630 NBC news 15 Oct 2011 and noticed Dr Hollis business add about lasik surgery and want the people of auburn and surrounding areas to know about my bad experience with dr Hollis's lasik services. He performed lasik surgery on my wife's eyes after removing cataracts off her eyes. He then inserted the wrong size lenses over her eyes causing her vision problems as one lense was a different size than the oppisite eye. This happened in the early eighties while he was practicing in Columbus,Ga.. If anybody there reads this ,they can email me or call me at 706 687 8012 or my cell is 706 987 9795.. more

Maybe 7/30/2008

I was told that Hollis may not be the best place to get surgery. I haven't seen any testimonials so I don't know. I was told to go to Dothan, AL for Lasik Surgery. I would talk to Dr Whatley in Opelika, AL (6th street) and Dr Zloty in Dothan, AL at Southeast Eye Clinic. I was recommended to Southeast Eye Clinic in Dothan, AL because of their new equipment. The new laser makes a big difference so you won't need multiple laser surgeries. more

NO problems 4/17/2007

Everybody in my wife's family has been to "see" Dr. Hollis and afterwards they could all "see" without glasses or contacts!! I'm not sure how my inlaws found him, since they live on the other side of T-Town....I think he might have been brave enough to come up there, but I'm guessing he wasn't wearing his orange and blue (LOL). Anyway, they both went to have their eyes done. Since you have to return the next morning for a follow up, they got a hotel room and spent the night. My wife drove over from here in The Capitol City to make sure they got prescriptions filled, supper and back to the hotel safely after the procedure. They were thrilled with the results and wanted their daughter, my wife to have it done. About a month or so later, she agreed to have the procedure done as well. She too is thrilled with the results. I am pretty sure that cost wise, along with success rate, is the reason they all made the trip over to Auburn to have it done. He has a great reputation and all three are more
