They committed to do all unpacking and removing the debris. Left a lot of the job undone and wanted to charge more for coming back and doing the job. more

The company charged us for moving, uncrating and removing the debris. They did not complete the job and then claimed that uncrating crates was never part of the job. They were fully aware that they had 7 crates in 80 packages when they took the job - "move all packages, unpack all and remove debris for all". When contacted they said "oh we simply left three crates unpacked". Even after sending them evidence that they left 7 crates uncrated they have not bothered to remediate the situation. So buyers beware - they will do partial job and try to escape from the hard work..... Will never recommend this company to anyone more

I have never written a review about any company, but I felt this was necessary. I was warned about Hollander Mayflower, but didn't heed the advice. This is a warning to all who do not heed my warning...stay away from Hollander. At every step of the way...they failed to get it right. The estimate..wrong...while packing the belongings they damaged my wood floors ..they. damaged over $3000 of belongings and only reimbursed $700 on the insurance. They refused to re-assemble all of my furniture which I paid for. I could go on and on..but I will just warn you...do not do what I did and ignore the warnings...you will be sorry..I was..My generic moving company that I hired prior to this move provided me a flawless move...this Name brand company failed me in almost every way!! more

Absolutely terrible experience. Charged us 60 more of the bill at delivery. Totally taking advantage of customers after delivery. They charged us for moving a baby crib and we don't even have children...very phony company. We tried to fix the problem with them, but they were less than user friendly. more

The driver was the head of the crew, and he was on top of everything. He made the experience working with Hollander Moving a pleasure. We have used others before but it was our first time using Hollander. Everything turned out great. more

After receiving an acceptable estimate for two separate moves from one location Hollander then increased the rate on one move by $450.00 and the second by $250.00. When confronted by this information the gentleman who gave us the initial estimate (Greg) could only apologize saying that, "I know but 'they' increased the rates after guaranteeing me that they wouldn't" This company is as shady as the rest and should be approached with equal caution. We had chosen these movers because the university for which we both work suggested them. We have informed the relocation office at Northwestern and they will take appropriate action. This was the 4th or 5th time I've been moved by a company and the experience from start to finish with Hollander was top shelf. Moving is stressful and the number of "to-do's" can be overwhelming. My coordinator responded to questions 7 days a week within 10 minutes of me sending an email or making a call. I would recommend Hollander to any company thinking about switching vendors, and any family making a move. A Hollander rep even stopped by my new place when they were unloading just to check on things. Wonderful service - first class! more

Hollander International Storage and Moving moved us from Indianapolis to Chicago. My wife's company hired them to move us in a relocate program. We've never used moving companies before. In the past, moving was me putting stuff in the back of a pickup and going. Everything Hollander has done was over the top. It was courteous people, polite, caring. Their friendliness was over the top. There was one member of the crew who'd been a friend for 30 years, and the rest was family. I couldn't say enough about them. As for the quality of work, they were precise and careful in the packing of stuff, making sure nothing would get hurt. They'd wrap something three times if they thought there was a chance of it getting dinged. There was a 1,200 pound empty safe that they needed to move, and they didn't put a scratch on it. They did ask me to sell it with the house this time, though. more

The person I worked with throughout the whole move, Janna, gets a 10 on a scale of 1 to 5. She really was great. I have never had better service anywhere, she was that good. There were times I would email her at 11 at night, and she would call me back. She was pleasant, nice, always got back to me quickly, and overall was wonderful. If she treats everyone with the great service she gave us, she should seriously get a raise or bonus. The only other contact I had was with the people who came to pack and unpack my house. I have never had so many things damaged. I have many antique pieces, and some of them were demolished. Our beds are chipped, and they didn't put them up correctly. They both collapsed in the exact same spot. There was a silk lamp shade, and the lining was all shredded. I am amazed at how much damage was done. Everyday I find more things to add to the claim. I am thinking that perhaps Hollander International Storage and Moving contracts out their movers, though I am not sure. Mostly it was just furniture that was hurt. more

Every employee I worked with was courteous, professional, and exceedingly competent. I was nervous about the packing and long distance move (from Illinois to New Mexico, October 2009) and Hollander helped make the move as smooth as possible. Not a thing was damaged or broken--both the stuff I packed and the stuff the movers packed. Every appointment was kept in a timely manner. I have only praise for this company. more

Roy(the truck driver and supervisor of the move) is to be commended for his promptness, thorough job of taking inventory, and willingness to accomodate our requests. He understood and appreciated the value of our antique furniture and made sure the crews took extra care in packing and moving it. The crews worked diligently and were very helpful. Everyone involved made our move less stressful. We regret the delay in sending this letter as we just got our new E-mail set up and are adjusting to our new home. Thank you again for your services. I retired from State Farm and moved from Bloomington, Illinois to Lincoln, Nebraska and had Hollander International Storage and Moving do the move for me. They had moved me 13 years ago to IL, and now they returned me back to NE. I worked with Patty, and she did a great job. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable, and was also eager to be price competitive in regards to the other companies I had looked at. She constantly followed up with me. From the time I first contacted her until the time I was ready to move was about a year, and she would check in to see if I needed anything or had new information. When it came time for the move date she had all the trucks and personnel that we needed on site and on time. Roy was the driver we had, and he did a great job coordination the loading as well as the unloading in Lincoln. We had great crew members that were cautious with the furniture. Everyone worked quickly and courteously. more
