I travel for work weekly and stay at very nice hotels, tryst this is not one of them. The area on 7/11/2011 was affected by a horriable storm and the power to 700,000 people went out for two to three days. On monday 7/11/2011 I had one of my co workers reserved to stay at the pleasnat prairie holiday inn but they shut down the airports and he did not make it in. I live right across the street to the hotal so I went to cancel and because it was after 6 they had already charged me. Joe who was working that night was very rude and told me there was nothing that could be done, however there was a line of people waiting for a room behind me, at least 8-10, so I told him to give my room to one of them and he told me he couldn't but instructed me to sell my room to one of them and thats the only way I could get my money back. So the first one up was a lady that right in front of Joe took my room and I thought all was good. I had just got my bill now from the hotel and saw a charge of 400.00 dollars and freaked. today 8/1/2011 I drove across the street to find out the problem and the owner laughed at me and told me that the party had smoked in the room and told me I was lucky for not being charged with a crime. I was almost fell over I was so taken back, I explained that it was his employee that told me to sell the room this way and the owner told tough luck I wasn't there and laughed again and explained he could have charged me with a crime oince again. It was really unreal, please please, pass on this hotel and stay somewhere where they help out the community and have good customer service.
