Holiday Cafe 9/8/2005

Holiday Cafe does not include rice or pasta like all of the other cafes, which means that the dishes only come with the meat. You have to pay $0.50 for pasta or rice. It makes no sense, and the waiters were not that helpful either. more

Great restaurant 9/1/2005

Restaurant is located at the intersection of North Atlantic and West Emerson. It's inside the big plaza - can't miss it, there's a huge marquee on top advertising this very place. Food here is pretty good, follows the same formula of the Chinese cafes of late - classic Chinese food trying to blend American fast-food. They don't do the American section all that well - the fries aren't great compared to the better fast-food chains. The atmosphere here is wonderful, though - not too loud, but being chatty is a necessity here. Price is a little higher than the other restaurants, but it should be, as this place is top-notch. more

Reasonable Food at a Reasonable Price Without the Wait 8/20/2005

Even if you are familiar with the dominantly Asian population in this area, you may not have heard about this cafe before, mostly due to the fact that it is buried within a rather 'dead' plaza. The food here is your basic chinese cafe cuisine with the typical lunch and dinner specials. You also have the option of adding a drink for $0.50. It's also open late but unlike some of the other cafes that are open late, it's also less crowded providing a more personal environment. Also as a bonus, after 8pm there's karaoke! more

cheap dinner, bad service!!!!!!! 8/5/2005

I used to like to go to Holiday Cafe, because the food was very cheap. The combo for dinner there is including drinks and dessert. The price is good and the food is ok comparing to the other HK style cafe, but I was very disappointed by their service. I went there to have dinner with a group of people. Since they have karaoke, we asked the waiter if it is free or not. They told us it it free, so we just sang one song. When we finished that song, the waiter told us it is a custom that we should pay extra tips for the karaoke. When we got the bill, the tips was added to the bill already. I was disappointed that they use this tricky way to cheat the customer!!!!! more

Holiday Cafe 8/4/2005

Holiday Cafe is a good hang-out place for the young crowd. It has a fun atmosphere because they offer karaoke. The food is ok - very similar to the other Chinese cafes in the area. The service is poor. The menu is very tricky. When they ask when you want something extra (like pasta or rice), be sure that you ask if it is an extra charge. Beware about ordering drinks, because hot drinks are free but the cold drinks are not. more
